Gaozhou

Gaozhou is located in the upper-middle reaches of the Jian River in southwest Guangdong Province. Gaozhou is an important source of fruit in southern China, and many lychees, longan (“dragon eye” fruit), and bananas are grown here. Gaozhou has a long history, rich natural resources, and beautiful scenery. You will find famous ancient sites within the prefecture like the Xitai Temple, the Three Pagoda Towers of Gaozhou, and “Observation Mountain.” In northern Gaozhou you will find more attractions, like Changpo Old City, “High Cool Ridge,” and the Changpo Reservoir. To the east and west are the beautiful Wanmu (“Ten Thousand Acres”) Orchards of lychee and longan.
