I like visiting the prison museum, so I came here to lie down. The prison was rebuilt here, but there were not enough exhibits, which is a bit disappointing. Fortunately, there was a guided tour for an hour and a half to experience the taste of being detained. Although it was very interesting, I felt that the people arrested by the police were really pitiful.

We spent a good day in this prison. Our family loves history, so this viewing trip is a very good experience and an interactive trip that takes you back to the past. My 9-year-old son likes to pretend to be locked up. The prison itself is also very interesting, especially the display about Ned Kelly. If you like to learn about history, I highly recommend it here.
The old prison is big, you have to go to a small shop to buy tickets, go to the men's prison, then wait for what should be an hourly prison experience. The guards take you to the prison, at this time you are his prisoner! Just started looking at the pictures with the mobile phone, he was fierce! Scared me! Hahahahaha, I feel quite fun. I don't say much in the specifics! Let you experience it by yourself! (Full English, I am not very good English, so I also listen to a general, it is recommended to know the history in advance, interested to go again, otherwise will not feel worth the price, one person is 30 Australian, student ID can be discounted!)
The old prison experience the activities of the prisoners every time we went, just in time for the day, a staff member in police uniform, we were about 30 people in a wave, men and women stand in two rows, experience the process of prisoners from the internment, And randomly pick up a few people and send you a piece of paper with names, crimes, simple interrogations.
Very interesting and interactive. You should check this place out if you are in to history.
There was something exceedingly eerie about the gruesome collection of death masks cast from the actual heads of executed prisoners and noose on display. During the time of the Old Melbourne Gaol (jail), an astonishing 133 male and female prisoners were executed by hanging on the premises, the most infamous being Australian folk hero Ned Kelly. Equally disturbing were the stories of Martha Moore who paid a pittance to adopt children that she proceeded to murder and bury in her backyard or the tale of Martha Kneedle who poisoned her husband and daughters with arsenic.
Its kinda weird but here you pay to get yourself arrested. You'll experience being lockup and stay overnight at the watch house. Also visit the century old prison built in the early Melbourne, and the place that they used to execute people.
The Old Melbourne Gaol was the best thing we did In Melbourne. It was fascinating of what we found out
Must visit! They've opened almost all the chambers and inside each one they have information about the prisoner that stayed there or something else interesting about the place. Many interesting stories and see the death masks of famous criminals and the instruments used as punishment. If you really go in and read everything, the whole place can take a good 2hrs or so.
