Lake Geneva Travel Recommendations for 2024 (Updated in Apr)
Crescent-shaped lake between 🇫🇷 and🇨🇭
Lake Geneva is considered as Central Europe’s largest lake between France and Switzerland. As your train moves nearer here, you will start to spot houses resembling French architecture rather than Swiss-style architecture.
Visitors usually enjoy the cruise to notable sights, including the emblem of the city of Geneva, the “Jet d’eau”, up to 140metre high eater fountain in the middle of the lake.
Geneva itself is a diplomatic hub with many luxury shops and cobbled old town. On the southern end, you can also visit the spa town and resort of Evian-les-Bains or Lausanne, Montreux and Vevey.

Beautiful Yvoire, France
#EuroTrip - Small French Medieval Village
Located on the border with Switzerland, Yvoire is a quaint and flowery medieval village in the south-eastern region of Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes in France. It is also situated on the French shores of Lake Geneva as well. Yvoire is also touted as one of France’s most beautiful villages, locally nicknamed the “Pearl/Gem of Lake Geneva”.
The preserved and fortified village is famous for its floral display too and has been awarded by the International Trophy for Landscape and Horticulture.
Take a walk along the village's historical cobblerstoned narrow streets and proceed to the beautiful waterfront with splendid views of Lake Geneva as well. Enjoy the magnificent sights the village and the waterfront has to offer. Remember to take tons of insta shots too !
Yvoire is now ranked as one of the International Laureates of Floral Decorations, and is a member of the Association of the Most Beautiful Villages of France.
A speciality of Yvoire is their filet de perche from Lake Geneva. So do give it a try when you visit. All the restaurants there serve it lol. If you are into duck foie gras and cheese, you are in for a treat too !

The Mysterious Fork by Lake Vevey: A Wonderful Fusion of Art and Nature
Switzerland's fairy-tale land—Vevey, nestled among the lakes and mountains, hides an awe-inspiring artistic wonder. On the shores of Lake Geneva, a gigantic fork stands tall in the water, as if it were a piece of cutlery inadvertently left behind by Jesus Christ during a meal. This is no ordinary object, but a masterpiece by Swiss artist Jean Pierre Zaugg, specially designed to celebrate the tenth anniversary of the Vevey Food Museum.
Vevey, this small town located between Lake Geneva and the French border, has gained fame far and wide because of this giant fork in the lake. Originally a temporary art installation, it unexpectedly became a landmark of Vevey, drawing countless tourists to explore.
Standing on the lakeshore, gazing at the huge fork, one can feel the harmonious blend of art and nature. It not only witnesses the prosperity and changes of Vevey but also serves as a bridge connecting the past and the future.
If you also want to experience this wonder and mystery, consider embarking on a journey to Vevey to discover the story behind this giant fork in the lake. There, you will appreciate Switzerland's unique natural scenery and cultural charm, leaving behind unforgettable memories.

Bestie: Why don't you post photos of Geneva on Moments!?
I've seen a lot of posts saying Geneva is the most boring city in Switzerland, so I didn't have high expectations! But coincidentally, I had a layover here and after strolling around for a day, I found myself not wanting to leave... Let me list some places in Geneva that are worth visiting❗️
⚠️Geneva hotels all provide free transport tickets, which can be used for buses and trams! Be sure to ask proactively!
1️⃣Palais des Nations:
The bus stop is called: Nations! Don't make the same mistake I did by navigating to the Appia office, and then having to walk back in confusion... To visit, you need to book in advance, and when we checked in January, it was already booked until May 😂😂.
2️⃣Broken Chair:
It was quite shocking to see it, an art piece calling for peace, standing tall and dignified 👍👍
3️⃣Coop's 49CF Day Pass:
Not every Coop has it, I asked a staff member and he directed me to this one (near the Palais des Nations). After calculating my 4-day trip in Switzerland, this card helped me save 1000 yuan. Those who know, know; transportation in Switzerland is really expensive!
4️⃣St. Pierre Cathedral Geneva
How can you travel to Europe without appreciating a church⛪️? St. Pierre Cathedral is not very big, but once inside, it always gives a sense of divine majesty.
5️⃣Geneva City Area
Experience European-style architecture🏘️ and the local slow life~
6️⃣Jet d'eau
As tall as a 50-story building! In the center of Lake Geneva. The splashing water creates a dazzling mist. Under the sunlight, rainbows appear in the mist~ It's just too beautiful
📍Accommodation:
Since we were taking the train the next day, we simply stayed next to the train station. It was quite late when we returned, and the area was full of homeless people, to be honest, it was a bit scary... so we quickly went back to the hotel.
Dancing with the Lake and Mountain: A 4-day 3-night Travel Guide to Switzerland
Hello, travel enthusiasts, today I am here to share my 4-day 3-night essence itinerary in Switzerland. After reading this article, I believe you will definitely not get lost when traveling in Switzerland! 💖
First of all, planning the idea of traveling to Switzerland is very important! My suggestion is to choose the mountain you mainly want to go to (First/Jungfrau), the lake you want to play (Brienz/Thun), the small town you want to see (Grindelwald/Longjiang/Lauterbrunnen/Spiez), and then look at the tickets for Zurich and Geneva, and then make the route in and out of Switzerland.
Day1️⃣: London✈️➡️Geneva
Depart in the morning and fly to Geneva. It takes about 40 minutes to queue when entering the country. However, you can vaguely see the continuous snow-capped mountains in the distance at the airport, which makes me very excited! So, I took the bus directly to the United Nations Palace of Nations. 🇺🇳
Seeing the national flags of various countries at the entrance of the Palace of Nations, I really had some real feelings about the legendary United Nations. If you want to visit, you can make an appointment in advance. There are also the famous broken leg wooden chair and the international anti-landmine sign at the door, which is worth a look!
Then, we took the train to Bern. This section of the train route follows Lake Geneva, and the glimpse of the lake and mountains on the train brought a very shocking experience to the British who had never seen snow-capped mountains. 🚄
In Bern, the city named after the bear, we mainly went to the clock tower and the Rose Garden (Rosengarten). The Rose Garden needs to climb a few minutes on the hillside, and the town is very beautiful overlooking the river. 🐻
After the train, we arrived in Grindelwald. Just in time for the sunset in the evening, the slope under the setting sun is really a fairy tale into reality. 🏔️
This is my first three stops in Switzerland, and I will continue to introduce the following itinerary in the next article! I hope my sharing can help you. 💕

The United Nations Office at Geneva (UNOG), housed at the historic Palais des Nations, is the second largest United Nations centre after the United Nations Headquarters in New York. The facility, an outstanding testimony to twentieth century architecture, is situated in the beautiful Ariana park in Geneva, Switzerland.
The Palais des Nations is one of the largest diplomatic conference centers globally. Around 10,000 meetings are organized each year. Most conference rooms date back to the original construction of the Palais des Nations in the 1930s.

Broken Chair Travel Recommendations for 2024 (Updated in Apr)
The Broken Chair 🪑
How to get there: Tram number 15 from Cornavin and alight at Nations (or any bus that stops at Nations)
Geneva is a pretty small city. I did some research and found out the Broken Chair and The United Nation are the attractions in Geneva and ofc I have to pay a visit. It took only 15 mins to reach there from city centre.
If you wish to visit the inside of UN, do remember to pre book it on their website!!!! (we decide to visit Geneva so last minute that we weren’t unable to prebook it :(( )

Geneva's Broken Chair: Peace Symbol
#hiddengems
The Broken Chair in Geneva is a powerful symbol of disarmament and peace. Erected in 1997, it stands in front of the United Nations headquarters. This monumental sculpture was created by Swiss artist Daniel Berset and constructed by carpenter Louis Genève. The chair, missing one leg, represents the impact of landmines and the urgency for a global ban on these destructive weapons. Originally set up as a temporary installation, the poignant message resonated, and the Broken Chair became a permanent fixture. It serves as a constant reminder of the devastating consequences of armed conflicts, advocating for international cooperation to eliminate the use of landmines and promote a world free from the threat of such weapons. The Broken Chair stands as a testimony to the human cost of war and the collective responsibility to strive for a more peaceful future.
A Symbolic Call for Peace
The Broken Chair in Geneva stands as a poignant symbol of war's impact on civilians. This colossal sculpture, crafted from discarded wood, draws attention to the devastating consequences of conflict. Its shattered form invites reflection on the resilience of the human spirit amid destruction. Positioned in front of the United Nations headquarters, the Broken Chair serves as a stark reminder of the global community's responsibility to pursue peace and protect human rights. The emotive power of this artwork, coupled with its strategic location, makes it a compelling and thought-provoking testament to the ongoing quest for international harmony.

Summer in Switzerland🇨🇭
Many people tend to travel to Switzerland during the winter. But for me, this time, we did not travel during the winter. But Switzerland is just too beautiful regardless winter or other seasons.
On the first day, we visited places like broken chair, fountains and explored around in Geneva. The Broken chair was larger than I thought it would be and I really recommend you to visit and get a good picture there! There are lots of people looking for good spot to take picture, make sure you find one!
Broken Chair
📍1202 Geneva, Switzerland
We then travelled to different places like Grindelwald and Lucerne. The views were all very amazing and you get easily get the route online. Just to share two best restaurants that I had in Switzerland. One was at Lucerne, called Ristorante Da Ernesto. It is an Italian restaurant and the pasta was good. Do try out their tiramisu too 🙌 Another restaurant was at Grindelwald, called Barry’s. Do try out their cheese pot which is the best seller in their restaurant. The prices are above average but I think it definitely worth to trying!

The Geneva Water Fountain Travel Recommendations for 2024 (Updated in Apr)
The Geneva Water Fountain | Jet D’Eau
Jet D'Eau is probably the most famous and visited place in the city of Geneva. Getting there is pretty easy as it is located in downtown and all drivers know where is located or you can stay in nearby hotels. The whole visit, including walking around and taking pictures should last between 2 to 3 hours. Lake’s water is very beautiful, there are some colorfoul flowers around to decorate the lake. If you are lucky you will be able to see some swans around. If you walk around you might find the perfect angle to see the rainbow around the jet of water. The jet is powerful and the water can reach a height up to 140 metres! You can be in this place and walk around the whole day as there is no an open or closing time.

Tallest Water Fountain is in Geneva
#winhkflight #waterfountain #Geneva #switzerland
The Geneva Water Fountain, also known as the Jet d’Eau that is located at the point where Lake Geneva empties into the Rhône River. This Water Fountain is one of the tallest in the world that makes it the most iconic landmarks in Geneva, Switzerland.
The picture of Water Fountain was taken on a boat ride. The fountain shoots the water up to 140 meters into the air. The Water Fountain will be stunning during sunny days because rainbows maybe created when the sunlight catches the water drops. Besides admiring the tallest Water Fountain, you can leisurely walk along the lakefront promenade.
I want to travel to Hong Kong to leisurely walk along their promenade.

The United Nations Office at Geneva is also known as the United Nations Office at Geneva. When you get off the tram, you can see the United Nations compound with the national flags. There is a huge three-legged chair on the square, created by the sculptor Daniel Burseter in 1997 to commemorate the official entry into force of the Landmine Protocol. Landmines are used for military purposes, but tens of thousands of innocent civilians worldwide are disabled by lightning. The three-legged chair symbolizes the limbs that have been crippled by the thunder, but still stands tenaciously.

When you go to Geneva, Switzerland, you will find a sentence in the travel brochure: "There is no Swiss who thinks that Geneva belongs to Switzerland." You may be curious, but only if you really come here will you find that this sentence may be true. As the second largest city in Switzerland, the city of the world, the capital of watches and clocks, the headquarters of various international organizations occupy half of the city, and people from more than 200 different countries occupy the population of the city. One of the points. Geneva borders France, so you can find a lot of French imprints here, there are many ancient churches and romantic French architecture. Most locals here speak multiple languages, but mainly French, German, Italian and English. Life in Geneva is very slow, and the rules are punctual and trustworthy, especially in the winter. At 8 o'clock in the evening, there is no figure in the street. After ten o'clock in the evening, I couldn't be embarrassed. Even a young man took a bath at midnight and was taken to court by the neighbor. The supermarket store is closed at 7:00 in the evening. In order to ensure that each worker has enough rest time, the law even stipulates that all businesses are not allowed to open on Sunday. If you live in Geneva, you may be happy and yelling, no more overtime! !
