Photos of Sri Mahamariamman Temple

A Hindu temple located near the Penang Botanic Gardens, the Mariamman Hindu Temple is located on Pittel Road and was built in 1883. The Mariamman statue in the temple is beautifully decorated with gold, silver, emeralds, etc. There is a tall tower at the entrance of the temple, which is full of carvings of various characters, vivid in shape and bright in color. The Thaipusam festival held every January starts from this temple.
