Mirabell Palace

Mirabell Palace and Gardens was built in 1606 on the north bank of the Salz River in Salzburg, where it was renamed Mirabell Palace by its successors after Dietrich's death. Today it is the city hall of Salzburg. Mirabella Gardens is a popular photo spot for tourists. This baroque garden with Roman sculptures, fountains and labyrinths was once the place where the heroine Maria and her children sang "Do-Re-Mi" in the famous movie "The Sound of Music". Marble Hall Since there has been a fire here before, what remains is the marble staircase leading to the garden and the marble hall. The Marble Hall is today one of the most beautiful wedding halls in the world, where couples come to register for marriage almost every day. There are lovely little angel sculptures everywhere in the hall, and on the walls are statues of various Greek gods. The little angels have different postures, naive, lively and cute, as if they are sitting in the clouds and playing. In addition to this, the Marble Hall is mainly used for conferences, commemorations and concerts. Every year from mid-July to the end of August is the time when the famous Salzburg Festival is held. At this time, world-renowned groups and artists in the classical music world will come to Salzburg to bring wonderful performances to the audience. Garden highlights Mirabell Garden is actually a small street garden. The scenery is mainly set off by the shapes and colors of flowers and plants. Therefore, it is not recommended to visit here in winter. In the center of the garden is a large fountain surrounded by many statues of figures from Greek mythology. Walking up to the back of the garden is the dwarf garden. There are several dwarfs in it. The shape is more exaggerated. It is said that the prototypes are the children born by the bishop and his mistress. There are also 2 unicorn sculptures in the garden, which are full of romance and fairy tales. When the weather is good from May to October, you can come here to play. You can sit on a bench in the garden to bask in the sun and watch the wisteria waterfall flow down.
