This magnificent Orthodox church in the old city was built in 1904-1905 to commemorate the Belarusian soldiers who died in the Russo-Japanese War. The design of the church is neo-Russian style, decorated with numerous onion-shaped domes and crosses, plus the Notre Dame church next to it and the statue of the Virgin in front of the church.
It takes about 15 minutes to walk from the city center to here, it's worth a visit!
Grodno is the westernmost city of Belarus. On the Neman River, near the Polish border. River port. Railway hub. The industry is dominated by machinery manufacturing, metal processing, synthetic fiber and nitrogen fertilizer production, followed by textile, shoemaking, cigarette and household appliances manufacturing. There are medical, agricultural and normal colleges and architectural monuments from the 12th to the 18th century. The city of Grodno is one of the oldest cities in Belarus, and many ancient castles and religious buildings still remain in the city.
It is a simple and simple church with a quiet and solemn taste.
Chuch very interesting from the outside, even nicer as for the interior. One of the best hortodox churches of the whole country. Very very much advised to pay a visit!
This cathedral is the main Orthodox church in Grodno. The outside is beautiful as is the inside with its small arches that lead up to the main arch.
This is the most famous cathedral in the town, most orthodox believers attend it. This is the best alternative if you want to see the tradition closer.
The rich pink and white icing exterior of this fabulous church reminded me of a gingerbread house. It is quite stunning. Upon entering, one notices the black and gilt of the small wooden altars in arc...
During our trip on November 6 throw Grodno we walk near the Church and made some photos. Good and interesting!
