Qiongtai Academy Photos

Qiongtai College is famous for being the place where the story in the Cantonese opera "Sou Shu Yuan" takes place. As soon as you enter the academy, you can see the frangipani trees on both sides. "Frangipani" is also known as Burmese Gardenia. The petals are white, the flower heart is light yellow, dignified and elegant, and it is very similar to the egg white wrapped in egg yolk, hence the name Plumeria. The main building of Qiongtai Academy, "Kuixing Building", is two stories high, with green tiles, red corridors, and white walls. In the courtyard, there are two statues of Zhang Yuesong, the head teacher of the academy, and Xie Bao, a scholar. There are two small exhibition halls and a small museum in the academy. In the museum, there are a large number of stills and pictures of "Sou Shuyuan" and detailed historical materials, which fully demonstrate the 300-year development history of Qiongtai Academy and the history of education in Hainan. Qiongtai Academy was built in the reign of Emperor Kangxi of the Qing Dynasty. It was an institution of higher learning in Qiongzhou in the Qing Dynasty. A group of literati and writers have been trained here. It is a famous scenic spot in Hainan. Now Qiongtai Academy is located in Qiongtai Normal School.
