What travelers say:

The Oakville Museum (Oakville Museum) is located on the high ground on the shore of the estuary lake of 16 Mile Creek (Sixteen Mile Creek), originally named Eccles Manor (Erchless Manor). This historic building, built in 1838, was once the private manor of Oakville's founding family. Colonel William Chisholm was a bold merchant and shipbuilder who built the Eccles estate and the new harbor overlooking Lake Ontario. Today, visitors can still visit and explore the history of Oakville and listen to the fascinating stories of the town in this converted museum. Also, you can admire the many ancient buildings, gardens and gardens that also built in the early 19th century around the museum. The Oakville Museum is open from Tuesday to Sunday from 1pm to 4.30pm, and tickets for adults are closed on Mondays.
