Ruiguang Tower

The Ruiguang Tower is an ancient tower of the Song Dynasty located in Panmen, Suzhou. It was built in 247 years (Ten Years of Sun Quan Chiwu), 13 floors. It was changed to 7 floors and 8 sides when it was rebuilt during the Dazhong Xiangfu period of the Song Dynasty (1008-1016). It is about 43 meters high. Ruiguang Temple Pagoda Xi called Ruiguang Pagoda, located in Panmen, southwest of the city, was listed as a cultural relics protection unit in Jiangsu Province in 1956, and was listed as a key cultural relics protection unit in the country in 1988.

Ruiguang Tower is located in Panmen Scenic Area, Gusu District, Suzhou. This ancient tower can be regarded as the earliest pagoda in Suzhou. It was built in the Three Kingdoms period and was rebuilt in the Song Dynasty. It has a history of more than 1,000 years. Here, a large number of cultural relics from the Tang and Song Dynasty have been found.

Ruiguang Tower, also known as "Ruiguang Temple Tower" or "Ruiguang Courtyard Tower", is an octagonal seven-story brick and wooden structure pagoda, is one of the few Song towers in Suzhou, and Panmen Water and Land City Gate, Wumen Bridge together formed the famous "Panmen Three Views". In 1978, a number of precious cultural relics such as Zhenzhu Shelibao Building were found in the heart of the third floor of the Ruiguang Tower, including embroidered silk woven wardrobes and silk woven heads.

Ruiguang Tower, also known as "Ruiguang Temple Tower" or "Ruiguang Courtyard Tower", is one of the few Song Towers in Suzhou, and Panmen Land and Water City Gate and Wumen Bridge together form the famous "Panmen Three Views". Ruiguang Temple was originally named "Puji Temple", and later called "Ruiguang Temple".
