Human sacrifice
This is one of the temple sights where human sacrifice took place. It dates from 1300 AD and possibly earlier. Not too much different from other heiau sites throughout the islands.
An incredible historic sight.
You can see pits where human sacrifices were made. It is amazing to see stones piled quite deep in a valley on a surface about the size of a football field.
Nice short walk in the forest to the heiau

Found this Heiau the first time in the pouring rain. It is so large and quite well preserved. Took us forever the first time to find it, but now we know the way. Be respectful here.
