Excellent - but not Mind BendingOkay....I admit my expectations were very high. Lung King Heen is the only Cantonese restaurant on the planet with three Michelin Stars. The restaurant is in the Four Seasons in Hong Kong. High expectations are warranted.Given the background and our experience in fine dining, I was expecting to be transported to a higher plane of food consciousness. That never happened. What did happen was a very good lunch for our party of five. The location as I mentioned is on the 4th floor of the Four Seasons in Hong Kong. The entrance to the restaurant is rather non-descript. The space is sprawling inside and finely appointed in muted, contemporary fashion. The service was world-class - a prerequisite for Michelin Stars. The staff was helpful and attentive throughout. I guess where things fell a bit short to me was the food. Dont get me wrong, there were some really good - no great - things. The BBQ Pork bun was ethereal and we fought for the last bites ...
Chinese cuisine as its bestWhen we knew that we were about to travel to Hong Kong, we decided to try a Michelin Star restaurant and what is best than trying a chinese 3 star restaurant in China than anything else?We had a beautiful table with the view on the ICC building. We chose to take the menu with associate wine and it was pure explosion of taste from the start! Perfect products in every dish, beautiful association of taste! And very good choice of wine with different dishes. On top of that, the service is perfectly friendly with people knowing perfectly the products and knowing how to present them. This is a 3 star michelin so dont expect something not too expensive. But you have by far the service, the quantity and the taste of what you are paying for!I know I will certainly go back to Lung King Heen when Ill be back to Hong Kong.
LunchChef selections. Best meal in a long time. The special chicken soup was fantastic. We also loved the goose.
