Introduction
The St. John's Cathedral in Hong Kong is one of the oldest Anglican Church in the eastern part of the world. It was built in 1847 and it has gone through expansions and transformations throughout its history. The Cathedral holds weekly services and various community and social services to keep in touch with the local community. They allow people to get married in the Cathedral and they perform baptisms on infants, children and adults. Baptism and confirmation services are held several times a year. They allow people from all over the world to come and take in the beauty of the Cathedral.

Overlooking heart of the Central district on the Government Hill, this Anglican cathedral is the main church of the city’s Anglican diocese and hosts the city’s archbishop. The gothic-style cathedral, now buried in the concrete jungle in the middle of countless skyscrapers, is one of the only five cathedrals in the city. It was open in 1849 and is located near other important buildings, including the former government headquarters. It bears a many marks of the colonial history, including the coat of arms of two past governors, the British Royal Arms on the first pew, and a war memorial for those died in two World Wars.
A key historic relic of the past (and marked as a historic treasure by the HK government in 1996) that survived pre and post World War II, where SJC was used by the Japanese during the occupation to hold meetings. SJC saw a lot of post war renovation, and thus the reason why the building still looks in pretty good shape.
Built in the middle of the hill, the church is very characteristic and is good for taking pictures and taking small trances
