Qingcao Lake is 4 kilometers away from the urban area of Hsinchu City. It is a reservoir with both sightseeing and irrigation functions. The lake is surrounded by lush greenery and temples. During the Dragon Boat Festival, Hsinchu residents hold traditional dragon boat races here, which is very lively. Among the surrounding temples is Lingyin Temple, which was rebuilt on the basis of the original Japanese shrine.
