The Imperial City of Hue is square, each side is about 2.5 kilometers long, surrounded by a moat. The city wall is 8 meters high and 20 meters thick, all made of bricks. The front is the Palace of Diligence where the emperor usually handles government affairs, the back is the Palace of Qiancheng, where the emperor lives, the Kuntai Palace where the queen lives, the Guangming Palace where the crown prince lives, and the other concubines live. Shunhui Hospital, etc. There are also flag towers, Hall of Supreme Harmony, and palace halls and temples for worshipping emperors of all dynasties in the imperial city. The entire building is quite spectacular. It is the largest and more complete ancient building complex in Vietnam and has been included in the World Cultural Heritage List.
