Tang Jiyao was born in Jinzhong, Huize County, Yunnan. He was born in 1883 and died in 1927 at the age of 44. The former residence of Tang Jiyao is located at No.14, Sandaoxiang, Huize County, covering an area of 850 square meters. The whole house faces the south and faces the north. It is divided into two courtyards. It is a small enclosed courtyard complex, which is a typical residential building in the middle and late Qing Dynasty in Huize. The front yard has 3 main halls, an opposite hall, a study room and a stable, and there is a barn in the back yard for grain storage. There are 14 houses in the front and rear courtyards, and the former residence courtyard is well preserved. Tang Jiyao is an outstanding military strategist. He successively instigated the "Chong Nine Uprising", launched the National Protection Movement, and led the "Guardian Yasukuni". Together with Cai E and Li Liejun, he was called the "Three Masters of National Protection". Tang Jiyao is also an outstanding statesman. During the 14 years of ruling Yunnan, Tang Jiyao attached great importance to the development of education and sent a large number of overseas students; he first donated 10,000 yuan (old Dian currency) as preparation expenses, and then donated 500,000 yuan to establish the first formal private university in Southwest China. -Donglu University (predecessor of Yunnan University); established the first aviation school in Southwest China; established the first bus station in Yunnan history.
