Don´t miss the whale museum if you go to Húsavík, it is worth it. Our 4 year old loved it also and there is a little room there for toys if kids get tired of whales:)
Here the whales have been shown all around the life habits and characteristics, and the benefits are great.
.Husa Bay/Húsavík Húsavík is a town in the northeastern part of Iceland. Fishing and tourism are the backbone of Husavik's economy. .Whale watching holy place It is not only Iceland, but also a famous whale watching holy place in Europe. It is named "European Whale Watching Capital". There is also the Husavik Whale Museum in the town, which contains all the knowledge about whales, the skeleton of Narwhal, etc. .The busy port is full of various small sailboats, and the theme is never without whales. The town is covered by various bright colors and whale patterns. Like it is recommended to book a viewing Tour. The most famous landmark is the wooden church Húsavíkurkirkja built in 1907. The colors and shapes are very fairytale. You can experience the ultimate midnight sun from June 11th to June 29th every year. History According to Landnámabok's "Book of Reconciliation", Húsavík was the first place in Iceland to be settled by Nordic people. The Swedish pirate Garðar Svavarsson stayed there for a winter around 870 AD. When he left the island in the spring of 870, after a winter stay, he left a man named Nattfari and two slaves, a man and a woman, and they established a farm here. The name of the town means "Bay of Houses" and may refer to the homestead of Garðar, which may be the only house in Iceland at the time. .. A small museum, there is still some time before going out to sea to watch whales, so I went to the museum to see the story of whales. Unexpectedly, this museum "the sparrow is small and has all internal organs", which vividly displays the history of whales.
The most distinctive museum in this whale watching town
Located at the seaside of husavik, the whale watching harbor, very distinctive
