The only Cathedral in the Windy City is the Holy Name Cathedral. Francis Cardinal George is presiding bishop of this cathedral. Here you can join Sunday Mass along with thousands of visitors each week. Holy Name Cathedral is planted on State Street in the heart of downtown Chicago. The church was built in 1843, and since then has undergone reconstruction from a fire in the late 1800's. Today, Catholics flock to Holy Name Cathedral to worship God. If you enjoy mass, you have the opportunity to become a parishioner. There are opportunities to volunteer to help the homeless and disabled. Holy Name Cathedral is not just a church, but a parish community.
