Beautiful Inle Lake
Discover a Myanmar less discovered, and take a half (or full) day boat tour to the villages around Inle Lake. We arrived by afternoon, enough time to wrap up the tour with stunning sunset. Serene and simply magical. Villages of simple homes made of wood and woven bamboo rise on stilts above water that, in sections, with elaborate floating gardens. The lotus fabric weaving workshop was also worth to visit. Overall experience was excellent.
For those hesitant of boat adventures, fret not: the boats are extremely comfortable, not at all sea-sickness-inducing, and each passenger is seated in a very relaxing armchair of their own for the entire ride.
Getting there - 1 hour domestic flight from Yangon to Heho Airport in Shan State.

Few places represent so clearly the meaning of Myanmar. There is so much to see and do in Inle Lake and, above all, to feel, that it is best not to follow any other scheme than the one it proposes.
Although Inle Lake is actually only 11 kilometers long, it is spread over so many marshes and canals that its watery influence ultimately extends for just over 100 kilometers.
Fortunately, the shores of the lake are still largely untouched by any constructions that might obstruct such a dreamlike panorama. Nyaungshwe, the most important city with the largest tourist infrastructure, is connected to the lake by a canal of approximately 4 kilometers, which distances the Natural Reserve from any self-respecting urban commotion.#nationalpark
Inle Lake
Inle Lake (Burmese: အင်းလေးကန်; MLCTS: ang: le: kan, [ʔɪ́ɰ̃lé kàɰ̃]), a freshwater lake located in the Nyaungshwe Township of Shan State, part of Shan Hills in Myanmar (Burma). It is the second largest lake in Myanmar with an estimated surface area of 44.9 square miles (116 km2), and one of the highest at an elevation of 2,900 feet (880 m). During the dry season, the average water depth is 7 feet (2.1 m), with the deepest point being 12 feet (3.7 m). During the rainy season, this can increase by 5 feet (1.5 m).The watershed area for the lake lies to a large extent to the north and west of the lake. The lake drains through the Nam Pilu or Balu Chaung on its southern end. There is also a hot spring on its northwestern shore.
Large sections of the lake are covered by floating plants. Its clear and slightly alkaline waters (pH 7.8–8) are home to a diverse fauna and many species found nowhere else in the world (endemics). There are more than 35 native species of fish, including 17 endemics. Some of these, notably the Sawbwa barb, red dwarf rasbora, emerald dwarf rasbora, Lake Inle danio, Inle loach and the Inle snakehead, are of minor commercial importance for the aquarium trade. Several fish that are not native have been introduced. Additionally, the lake is home to about 45 species of freshwater snails, 30 of them endemic, along with a small endemic freshwater crab, Inlethelphusa acanthica. It hosts approximately 20,000 migratory gulls in November to January.
In June 2015, it became Myanmar's first designated place of World Network of Biosphere Reserves. It was one of 20 places added at the Unesco's 27th Man and the Biosphere (MAB) International Coordinating Council (ICC) meeting. Since 2018 it has been designated as a protected Ramsar site.

Indein Travel Recommendations for 2024 (Updated in Apr)
Amazing place
A one hour boat ride down a small canal take you to the Pa-Oh village of Indein, positioned on the western shores of Inle Lake. You will take a leisurely stroll around the village before ascending the staircase leading to the pagoda. Once you’ve arrived at the summit, you will be greeted by an iconic Buddha image which sits enshrined among hundreds of stupa ruins and overgrown shrubbery. The Indein Pagoda complex is undoubtedly one of the most amazing sites around the shore of the lake and it consists of hundreds of small stupas which are overrun by moss and greenery. On your boat ride back, you can stop at the Inthar Heritage House to learn more about the history and culture of the lake’s indigenous people.

Along the meandering canals, you arrive at this weir.
Lots of boats, lots of friendly stall owners and a magical long walk in a columned corridor leads you to an historical gathering of stuppas..
Late afternoon is best for light, and just wander freely amongst newly restored, and 12 th century stuppas, build in Bagan time.
Low key, atmospheric, and don't miss walking along the tree lined river with Bamboo groves along side.
Village life in the water is very apparent, nothing to do with tourists. #GiveThanks
The beauty of Yindeng is that after climbing to the top of the mountain, he looks at the vast expanse of the vast plain; the beauty of Yinden lies in the ancient stupa that stands quietly. Walking into Indun is like entering a quiet world that is different.
The Indun pagoda group surrounded by mountains, the towers are scattered, and the densely packed space is located in this space. The children sat under the pagoda, bathed in the sun, and the warmth was great.

Nyaung Shwe Travel Recommendations for 2024 (Updated in Apr)
Between the large and small hutongs of Liangrui Town, I accidentally met this small broth that was hidden in the trail. Although the size of the brothel is very large, but only a dozen monks live in it, their friendliness is impressive, and their enthusiasm is in love with this quiet place that has never received pollution.
Although the monks here are not good at English, they are very talkative and like to communicate with foreigners. There are also clever little samurai, who come up with some small ideas from time to time.
Incredible Pristine Lotus Resort Inle
Pristine Lotus Resort is located in Inle.Boat shaped floating cottages with great views of the lake .The resorts provides hillside villas too. #Inle Resorts#myanmar #Heho
Falling in love with Liangrui is simple because it is a simple small town. The river passes through the city, the carriage rides in the streets, the red coat flutters in the wind, the bleak countryside, and the beautiful stupa.
Liangrui's market also has a unique charm, because the colorful and colorful, because the enthusiasm has a good hawker, is like a vivid picture, people fall in love with here.
Living in the village of Liangrui, it is hard not to be moved by its pastoral style. Green rice fields, golden hopes, welcoming villagers, happy smiles on their faces, and the quiet lake, waiting around the village.
Walk through the vast rice fields on the quiet lake, feel this bleak and quiet life, and gradually fall in love with this simple and beautiful small village.
Floating Market Travel Recommendations for 2024 (Updated in Apr)
The floating market in Yuvama Village is a famous attraction in Inle Lake and I am very impressed. It is the main venue for the 5-day market and the largest floating market in Myanmar. If you want to experience the local people's life, Iwama Village Floating Market is a good place to experience the local people's life as a local local market in Inle Lake.
The floating market is located in the lower reaches of the Inle Lake. You don't have to find your own way, the boatman will naturally take it to the floating market. Although the floating market is very messy, the local boatman can always find a way to shuttle freely among them.
After disembarking, follow the field to the market. With the increasing number of tourists, there are stalls selling souvenirs on both sides. Lacquerware and woodcarving are very special products. Walking through the wooden bridge, the market is full of people. It is full of vegetables and fruits freshly picked from the water garden. People sell a variety of daily-use small commodities. The fishermen buy dried fish and fresh fish here. The smells are mixed together, not good smell, and even a bit suffocating. In the eyes of most people, it is just a chaotic farmer's market.
But I like it very much. The locals are here to find everyday needs, where you can see the most authentic life on the lake. Although carrying a huge camera, wearing is also incompatible with this place, people around me have cast a different look. But people are curious about the kind smiles they sent later, or let me relax. The narrow walkways and spaces between the booths give the space where the light penetrates. The air is scattered with tiny particles, showing a unique sense of light and space. The people who passed me by myself seemed to follow the path I designed for them, and walked into the magical light properly, which made me happy.
In the middle of the floating island group, there is a floating market called Imawa. It consists of two long and narrow floating islands, a river course with a width of about 40 meters. There are many shops on both sides of the river, and the daily necessities are complete, making the river a long water street. Street boarded the ship and brought in vegetables, melons, fresh fish and other agricultural and sideline products. It was sold on both sides of the street and it was very busy and lively. The Ywama Floating Market is the largest floating market in Myanmar and is held every five days. However, it is not the only water market in Inle Lake. On the day of the lake tour, if the Imawa water market is not open, you can also visit other markets open on the same day. These markets have locals who sell a variety of daily-use small commodities. Fishermen bring their dried fish and fresh fish to trade here, and women also sell many fresh vegetables and fruits, while the mountain people Then the sucrose and mountain goods made from the local method are shipped here. And with the increasing number of tourists, the sales of souvenirs here have increased, and you can find your favorite souvenirs in this market, such as lacquerware, wood carvings and so on.
Red Mountain Estate Vineyards & Winery Travel Recommendations for 2024 (Updated in Apr)
Tasting Myanmar local fined wine
Getting There - 1hr drive from Inle region

Food & Restaurants - winery serves with local and European foods
If you’re a local wine seeker, Red Mountain Estate is the best place to taste fine Myanmar wine. It is a hug vineyard with grapes garden and restaurants. The wine factory is also within the compound of vineyard. A pleasant place with fresh air and amazing view on the top of the vineyard hill.

This is a red mountain estate, a wine yard with beautiful landscaping in Shan state. You can also visit a wine manufacturing process, yard, and enjoy wine tasting.
#redmountains #shanstate #myanmar #winery
The sunshine at the Red Mountain Wine Estate at noon was really hot, and we avoided renting the hotels bicycles when it was hot. Start walking and heading for the wine estate on the mountain. The journey takes about 40 minutes.
Most people mentioned that Myanmar would not think of wine. After all, its not a bad name compared to the European countries.
The same is true: The humid monsoon climate in Southeast Asia does not help the winemaking. The summer sunshine here is shorter than in Europe, accompanied by high temperatures and high humidity. Not a good place to make wine. In order to grow the grapes, Burmese winemakers have found this mountain range, and the climatic conditions allow the vines to complete a long growth cycle before the rainy season.
Today is the wine estate built on this valley. The price of the
winery is also reasonable, offering a 2000kr four-cup set menu that allows you to taste the specialties here. .
Drinking and strolling, making a daze, time goes by quickly.
The sunset started slowly, and the farmland facing the entire winery was covered in gold.
While enjoying the sunset quietly, you can also choose to have dinner at this manor, basically based on Western food. If you taste it, you can't do it. It's acceptable. Considering the sunset landscape, it is a very good choice.
