Thousand Islands

The main attraction is to see the island of Heart. The Bolt castle is said to be the most luxurious castle that the American rich man who bought the island of Heart in the early 1900s planned to build for his wife. It has been built for four years since 1900. It was not expected that his wife died just before the castle was finished, and Bolt never set foot on the island. Heart Island was later bought by the U.S. government and developed into a tourist attraction in the Thousand Island Lakes. Sure enough, the building with the story can inspire imagination.

We really didn't know what to expect but our family was mesmerized by the city, the sights and the area. We planned a short overnight but ended up staying 2 nights and it was enjoyable!

Driving from Toronto to Ottawa chose Kingston as a rest point. The town is not big, but there are quite a lot of people in the center of the town. We have been looking for parking spaces for a long time, but we still have to pay. Eat lunch, and then walk along the lake, you can enjoy the beautiful Ontario Lake view. The entire coastal road is about 30-40 minutes on foot, and you can walk slowly in time.

Taking a cruise from the pier in Gananoque is better than the pier in front of Kingston City Hall, with fewer people and better parking. There is no family package anymore. The one-hour cruise is nothing to watch. Take a 2.5-hour trip to Heart Island where the Bolt Castle in the United States is located.

Thousand Islands cannot be accurately translated as Qiandao Lake, because the island is not in the lake, but in the St. Lawrence Seaway. The best way to visit Thousand Islands is to report a boat tour. The better reputation is Uncle Sam Boat Tour and Clayton Island Tour. One advantage of Uncle Sam is that visitors can choose to disembark or go back to the pier at Boldt Castle on Heart Island. If you are visiting Boldt Castle on your own, you can stay on the island for as long as you want after you get off the boat and buy a ticket. Just one boat from Uncle Sam company back to the pier, as long as you don't miss the last boat. So we chose Uncle Sam's Two Nation Tour. Thousand Islands is scattered with more than a thousand islands of different sizes, and the scenery is very good.
