Jaisalmer Fort 🏰, Rajasthan, India
🏰 Jaisalmer Fort situated in Jaisalmer, Rajasthan is believed to be one of the very few "living forts" in the world. Built in 1156 AD, the fort is also known as the Golden Fort or Sonar Quila due to its yellow sandstone camouflaged as gold during the day when the sun hits the beautiful walls of the fort.
🚖 Getting There - It is quite near to the Jaisalmer city centre, about 20mins by car.
⚡️ Attractions - Each and every corners of the fort are breathtakingly beautiful. Climb the steps of the fort to discover the historical moments and memories and reach the top of the fort to see the whole Jaisalmer city.
🏨 Hotels - There are inside the fort as well. We stayed in a hotel in the Jaisalmer city centre though named Deoki Niwas Palace.
🛍 Shopping - There are some shops outside the fort to buy Rajasthani hats, some jewellery pieces or a souvenir.

Jaisalmer Travel Recommendations for 2024 (Updated in Mar)
Golden City of India
After a 12 hour long bus journey through the highways of Rajasthan, I found myself standing in Jaisalmer. Known as the 'Golden City of India', Jaisalmer is a small city in the western Indian state of Rajasthan, right in the heart of the Thar Desert. Standing on a ridge of yellow sandstone, this city is crowned by the ancient Jaisalmer Fort, the one I grew up knowing as 'Sonar Kella'.
Despite the searing heat, the vibrant colors of the city would cause phosphenes in your eyes as the magnificent fort seem to glow like a beacon. As you would walk through the narrow, dusty alleys of the Sonar Killa, the lively energy of the people around you would lift your spirits puting a big damn smile on your face.

GOLDEN CITY 💛🌟
Jaisalmer is a former medieval trading center and a princely state in the western Indian state of Rajasthan, in the heart of the Thar Desert. Known as the "Golden City," it's distinguished by its yellow sandstone architecture. Dominating the skyline is Jaisalmer Fort, a sprawling hilltop citadel buttressed by 99 bastions. Behind its massive walls stand the ornate Maharaja's Palace and intricately carved Jain temples.

Thar Desert Travel Recommendations for 2024 (Updated in Mar)
The Camel Desert Tour is the hottest tourist attraction in Jaisalmer. At 2:00 noon, we set off on the off-road vehicle to the desert. There are only a few dozens of people in every village passing by. In the hot weather, only one or two sporadic villagers can walk around the village. The driver is a part-time guide and tells us about the local customs, but he The accent is too heavy to distinguish. There is also a couple of Canadians who are starting out with us. An hour or so drive, it is the place to ride a camel.
The time we arrived at the sunset was still early. Everyone hid under the shade of a desert plant and waited for the sunset. The five camels were unloaded with heavy loads on their backs, and one of them was only falling down, and the four feet were lying straight on the soft sand, and they finally returned home. In the meantime, I saw a crow riding directly on the camel's head, as if the camel accepted the fact. The desert here is not so spectacular, it is some very low sand dunes. The sand dunes in the evening were silent, and the twilight stained her with a layer of orange, which was warm and generous. We were excited to climb the top of the highest sand dune, in fact, it was about a dozen meters, watching the sunset fall at our fingertips. The desert is like a gentle mother. We roll and dance in her arms, and every time she falls, she is wrapped in her fine sand. We are exhausted and enjoy it.
Before going to Jasonmeer
only know that there is a golden city
all buildings in the whole city are yellow
in the evening
dusk will cover the entire city / Hh/ looks golden
going to find a highland
sitting on the city wall
blowing wind
all overlooking Jason Mel
feeling
besides dazzling gold
There is also a distant desert
solitary smoke straight
go to the nearby Tal Desert camp
in the desert night to see the stars
Galaxy's trajectory across the star
clear and clear
A bunch of bonfires
people from all over the world will sit together
high singing and dancing
putting words
all this is the accident and surprise that Jason Meyer brought me
I have been here in my lifetime,
is lucky.
As the world's smallest desert, it has beautiful sand dunes and spectacular desert sunsets. Walking into the desert of western India, walking into the friendly desert nomads and watching the magnificent sunset landscape, is a rare and wonderful experience.
Although the environment around the desert is rather harsh, there is no sky-high cloud, but it gives people a sense of desolate beauty. The friendly and happy people in the desert are very touching.
In front of the eyes, there is a golden sunset, the two camels stand like sculptures in the background of the setting sun, the soft dry hot air blows, and the camel bells send a crisp and rhythmic sound. This is a large sand dune in the hinterland of the Tal Desert. I am next to a young man with a purple shirt and a beard. At dusk, the setting sun dyed the desert into red blood, which looked a bit desolate. Near the early spring, under the influence of the warmth of the warmth, the earth transforms into a poetic warmth.

Jain Temples Travel Recommendations for 2024 (Updated in Mar)
Right in the middles of the Thar Desert, the beautiful and remarkable Kiradu Temples are situated. The conglomeration includes five temples of which the temple of Someshwara leads the line. The temples are close to 1500 years old which make them even more special. The details and the construction of the temples leave everyone spell bound and awe struck. Similar to the Khajuraho, the Kiradu temples have erotic statues carved on it. Also, there is a mysterious and spooky rumour of a curse of a sage to a potter’s wife that goes along with the temple, maybe go there and experience it yourselves.

One of the most admirable sights in Jaisalmer Fort in Rajasthan is the Jain Temple, a labyrinth of yellow sandstone sarcophagus, although this sect is believed in India. Not much, just a small religion, but this does not prevent its temple from being built exquisitely. The various statues in the temple are worthy of careful appreciation. The carving is so beautiful. There are also several beautiful sculptures in the attic in front of the sanctuary. There are 12 statues of the elephant head in the temple, and many of them are superb.
