Kurjey Lhakhang

This large, incense-filled temple is named after Guru Rinpoche's body seal (Kurjey). There are three temples here, the first is Guru Lhakhang, the sanctuary upstairs is dedicated to Guru Rinpoche and his eight incarnations, eight stupas, and behind it is a meditation cave with the imprint of the master. The second is Sampa Lhundrup Lhakhang, which contains a 10-meter-high statue of Guru Rinpoche. The third is Zangto Pelri Lhakhang, where you can see the three-dimensional restoration of the copper-colored paradise mountain where Guru Rinpoche lived, as well as the mural of Queen Wangchuck enjoying life in Elysium.
