Jakarta Old Town ✨
Thinkin' of spending your weekend in Jakarta? Don't forget to visit Jakarta Old Town or "Kota Tua" in Indonesian language.
This is one of the popular tourist attractions in Jakarta. All buildings around this area are in Dutch architectural style. You can do sightseeing by walking or cycling (since they open bike-rentals too for visitors) around Kota Tua. Most of people will love the ambience, as well as stories behind these historical buildings.
On weekend, Kota Tua will be super packed with visitors, but you still can enjoy it. The option of entertainment will be more varied on weekend.
Since this area is not that huge, you may spend around 1-2 hours here to stroll around. And prepare more time if you want to drop by some museums or cafe.
Best way to get here is with Jakarta Commuter Line Train red line, stop in Jakarta Kota station.

Kota Tua Old Town, Jakarta
#timetotravel
Jakarta's old town, known as Kota Tua, is a historic area with old buildings and museums that show how the city looked under Dutch rule. It's a lively place with lots of people, especially on weekends. While some buildings might need fixing, it's a must-see spot for people who like history and want to experience Jakarta's past.
In the middle of the old town is Fatahillah Square, where you can find the Jakarta History Museum and the Wayang Museum. The streets are small and have vendors selling local stuff. It's best to go in the morning or late afternoon to avoid the heat. Despite a few issues, the old town is a special place to explore Jakarta's culture and history.

Will be very crowded on weekend or holiday. When buying offline ticket, you will queue buying ticket, and queue entry gate. So better you buy online ticket on their official web. After entry, you need to queue for free boot shoes and wristband (timer). After that, you can go deposit counter to store your belongings or directly go inside the park. At holiday /weekend, the queue will be everywhere start from entering building until you leave the building. So be patient 😊

Trans Studio Theme Park Cibubur
An awesome theme park located inside the Trans Studio Shopping Mall in Cibubur. A lot of great, high-quality rides that you can try here. My personal favourite was the Alien Taxi which kinda mimics the Space Mountain ride in Disneyland. You can find most of the typical rides in any theme park here such as a dark ride, roller coaster, a 4D simulation, wet ride and also a walking zombie simulation! Perfect place to bring your family for a fun weekend!

Indonesia's vegan food is a delightful fusion of flavors, a culinary adventure that unveils the essence of this tropical paradise. From fragrant curries to tantalizing tempeh dishes, it's a plant-based feast that showcases the rich diversity of Indonesian cuisine. Savor vibrant flavors that celebrate local ingredients and a culture that embraces compassion, all while enjoying the breathtaking beauty of this archipelago.
Hoods Cafe
#wheretogo
Hoods Cafe offers a diverse dining experience. The truffle beef donburi, while generous in portion, falls short in delivering a bold truffle taste. On the other hand, their cheese fries are fairly standard.
A highlight of their menu is the salads, which impress with their excellent taste and freshness.
In a nutshell, Hoods Cafe provides a varied culinary journey. While the truffle beef donburi is sizeable, it may disappoint truffle enthusiasts. The salads are a standout feature, and with overall good food, it's likely that will come back again.

Wonderful Jakarta !!
I had one of my best experiences in Jakarta since my first time here few years ago. Their wonderful hospitality and humbleness towards people are really capturing my heart. Always make me wanting to come here again and again.
Enjoy delicious halal food anywhere you go. Plus it's cheap and delicious! Try out different kinds of foods everytime we come here. Some of them that I really like such as Pecel Lele, Ketoprak, Nasi Padang, Nasi Uduk, Tahu Sumedang and the list went on and on!
Shopping is a must for a shopholic. Because the textile are from good materials. Such as dresses, cotton wear, telekung, and also othet fabrics wear. You can go to Tanah Abang for shopping and bargain for the one that you really like.
Masjid is available everywhere. You can pray at different Masjid everytime for experience whenever you stop by and feel the ambiences of some big Masjid. There are fews that famous within Jakarta.
So what are you waiting for? Add Jakarta into your wishlist. Do come over and visit Jakarta whenever you have a chance! Im sure that you wont regret it for even once and you will always want to come back for more experience!

Thing you need to know before visiting Monas
#vianasjourney #awesomepic
Apart of wanting to learn of it’s history, there are few details that you should know before visiting this place (These were my personal experiences). If you were taking grab like me, it would be better for you to pin the location at Southwest (barat daya) of Monas. From there, there’s a free transportation that can drive you to the entrance side as the walk to the building are quite far. Remember to bring local cash beforehand for buying entrance ticket as they only accept cash and money changer are far from the area. If you planning to go to the top of the building, there’s only one small lift that I think can fit max 6 person and it moves slow. So you might need to wait longer for this. What to expect once you reach the top is, it’s basically just a small area of space where you can see some building (president’s place, the only building that I was impressed by). At the bottom/ ground floor, you’ll be able to see a medium area of national museum. That’s basically what’s there. Not much but it was nice to learn the history of Indonesia.
National Monument MONAS 433ft
Located at the centre of Merdeka Square, National Monument (MONAS) is a must to visit when you arrive Indonesia.
The entry ticket to the museum and to the peak of the monument is relatively cheap at IDR20,000. You have to purchase the ticket and get your number to the peak, which is less than 1 hour for me to reach the peak.
In the museum itself, you will know how the Indonesian fight for their independence. Soekarno Hatta was their First President who struggle for independence from the Dutch colonialists. Indonesia gain its independence on 17 Aug 1945.
At the peak, you will get a spectacular view of the Jakarta. There is no limit of time spend at the observation deck. So, enjoy as much time as you can at the peak with the free of charge binoculars provided at every corners
Free tram service will ride you to the exit upon completion of your visit at MONAS 🥰🥰
National Monument
The National Monument or say monas is a 132 m obelisk in the centre of Merdeka Square, Central Jakarta, symbolizing the fight for Indonesia. It is the national monument of the Republic of Indonesia, built to commemorate the struggle for Indonesian independence.

Options in the area include pizza outlets and ramen shops, as well as casual local eateries serving mutton fried rice and catfish sauce

Ragunan Zoo
This large zoo is quite easy accesible with the Busway line. Since the zoo is large in area, do rent a bike and go around cycling.
In general, the animals seemed well cared for and had large enclosures ( often bigger than in so called World class zoos I have visited) although there were a few exceptions such as the primates which hadn't made it into the new section. Overall though, I thought this was a good zoo, a great park and excellent value for money.
There was no rubbish and no people threatening the animals. There was plenty of activities, like go carts and elephant riding, and there where some small "warungs". The surrounding area of the zoo is like a tranquility since trees is all over the place, a good way to get away from big city.
#urbanexplorer
#besttrip
Entrance price to this Zoo is ridiculously low, so low in fact many joggers simply pay the entrance fee so they run on "non-traffic congested" paths. There is plenty to see although some of the enclosures are empty. Its the only place I know where you can be photographed with a 200kg 7m python for a few dollars.
There was no raw sewage smell and the animals look well fed. There were plenty of trees for shade and the ground was clean.
The animals at Ragunan Zoo are also quite varied, from a bunch of Australian Pelicans near the entrance gate to some exotic ones like White Bengal Tigers, the endangered Sumateran Tigers, Orangutans, and cute Sumateran Elephants that would entertain you throughout your jogging spree. So, refresh yourself with a cool jogging experience in Jakarta, with some animals along the way!
