What travelers say:

Built in the 3rd century BC, Damascus is one of the oldest cities in the Middle East. During the Middle Ages, Damascus was a thriving artisanal area (swords and ribbons). Of the 125 monumental buildings that originated from different historical periods, it was the most spectacular of the Grand Mosque in the 8th century. Damascus Ancient City, located in southwest Syria, outside Lebanon, built on the slopes of the majestic Khsin Mountain. In 1979, UNESCO listed the ancient city of Damascus as a cultural heritage and included it in the World Heritage List. Both the Webas and the Genevas met with the travel caravan. Damascus was recorded in the 15th century BC, historically a religious, political, and trade center, and is now the national capital of Syria.
