Jeonju Hanok Village Travel Recommendations for 2024 (Updated in Mar)
Best time to visit Jeonju Hanok Village
#localescapes
It's Jeonju Hanok Village.
It's a pity that it's becoming a village of shops that look like hanok, rather than the unique beauty of the quiet hanok.
But I think it's a good place to visit for those who like clean retro sensibilities. I think foreigners look good in hanbok, too.The statue of Jesus, the Pietà replica, that greeted us with open arms in the electric cathedral was also wonderful.
Jeonju ❤️ healing place
Jeonju has a special place in my heart. People lives in a slower pace here compare to Seoul and I just love the hanok village. Did a hanok stay here and absolutely love it. The Hanok Village is a must visit! It is wayyyy better than those in Seoul to be honest. My highlight of the trip would be Chokso Cafe in Omokdae. The cafe is under the real hanok. The hanok was built more than 100 years ago. And the owner renovated it a bit and turned it into a “zen” beautiful cafe. #jeonju #solotrip #Visitkorea #hanokvillage

Jeonju Hanok Village - South Korea
Jeonju Hanok Village is a historical place located south of Seoul. Here you can find traditional Korean houses that are dated back as far as the Joseon Dynasty. The houses are now used as shops, restaurants and museums to showcase the many traditions of South Korea, such as rice wine making. It is about 2.5 hours journey by train from Seoul. Some of the popular attractions in Jeonju is to stay in one of the Hanok houses. Note also that Jeonju is where the famous Bibimbap originated, so make sure to try!

Hunan's first city is actually in Gwangju, South Korea
When traveling to South Korea, in addition to the most famous Seoul, Busan, and Jeju Island, Gwangju is also a good destination.
This place was once the capital of the Later Baekje, retaining a large amount of traditional culture and architecture, and is also the venue for one of the three major film festivals in South Korea, the Gwangju Film Festival.
🚄You can take the high-speed rail from cities like Seoul to Gwangju
🚌Or you can take a bus, the fare is more cost-effective
The main attractions in Gwangju are Hanok Village and a few nearby relics, which can be visited in half a day.
Many buildings are based on Chinese architecture and incorporate Korean elements, which are very interesting and beautiful, suitable for taking pictures and checking in.
Use kakaomap to search for the following attractions, the names of each attraction are as follows:
1⃣️Omokdae: p2 is on a small hillside, there is a small pavilion, the scenery is very good, you can overlook the entire Hanok Village
2⃣️Confucian school, village school: p3 This is Gwangju Township School, the architecture is very regular, the scale of the building is large, and it is also the location of many Korean movies
3⃣️Gyeonggijeon Shrine: p4 You need to buy a ticket to enter here, it is in Hanok Village, many people wear Hanbok here to check in and take pictures, it is also worth a look
4⃣️Jeondong Catholic Cathedral: p5 A Catholic church combining Chinese and Western styles, it may not be open for Mass on weekends, pay attention to the time
5⃣️Pungnammun Gate: This is where the cover's "Hunan's first city" is located. It's quite interesting to see this name here
🍜I ate the famous Gwangju bibimbap p7, which is the same as the former Korean president, but to be honest, Korean food is not very tasty, so I won't make too many recommendations.
Here is photos of my birthday dinner together with my girlfriend.
I will post my birthday cake afterwards so stay tuned.
Hahah, if you really need some inspiration for your next bday you have to see that!

Nambu Market Travel Recommendations for 2024 (Updated in Mar)
South Koreas fascinating shopping malls are just like a stroll. Among them, the youth mall of the Jeonju South Market, which is known as Korea's first youth MALL, certainly cannot be missed. This is also one of the top rankings in the list of Korea must visit listed by myself.
The southern part of the state is divided into two layers. If the first layer is the lingering continuation of Korean tradition, then the second floor is the LOFT of the fashion youths. Follow the stairs of the graffiti to the second floor of the market. The small shops with different personalities are very eye-catching. In 2010, with the gradual popularity of the nearby Hanok Village, more and more young people came here. This Youth Street Market, which has 33 specialty shops, will follow suit. Born to become a fashion highlight in the old market.
Telling the truth, although I have been to Korea many times, I am still visiting the morning market for the first time.
This morning, the ghost market sounds full of people, like a scary place, but it is actually a river market. The open-air market, which is sold from the 4 am to 10 am in the southern market, is divided into the Ghost Market. This market is not too big, there are about thirty stalls, all of which are sold by local people with their own fruits and vegetables.
Jeonju Southern Market
address
Do you know what the hutong of the traditional Korean market looks like? That is completely different from the impression of the alley in our impression!
This alley I have been to is in the southern market of the state. The history of the southern market dates back to the early days of North Korea. At that time, the "South Gate Market" was passed on to the predecessor of the southern market.
After the Korean War, the market was restored, and it opened as a regular state-run market in 1905, and then began to use the name Southern Market. From the southern market of the whole state in 1950, it became a fixed market with daily opening operations. After ten years of development, by the 1960s, the southern market successfully advanced to the top five markets in South Korea. Up to now, the large market with a scale of 5,900 square meters has become a big stage for the city to show its traditional life. It is connected to the surrounding Hanok Village and becomes a scenic spot for the whole city.
