Not knowing anything about the history of the Royal emperors in Korea it was interesting to see a reproductions of the only portrait of King Taejo, the ruler of the Joseon dynasty housed in the Royal ...
Here you will find originals and replicates of the portraits of the past kings and emperors of Korea, along with some history of their lives. Most of it are just brief descriptions. It would be better...
The portrait is only here for 2 weeks so go while you can if you’re in the vicinity. There is a free palace tour in English at 11am and 3pm daily. We were the only westerners on the tour.
Access to this is through the gates to Gyeonggijeon shrine - the building is dedicated to the only portrait of King Taejo, however, it is a replica of the original. There is also an exhibit of sedan c...
