Chaozhou West Lake, Hanbi Building and Gourd Mountain
🏞️Heading west along Zhongshan Road in the ancient city of Chaozhou, you come to Chaozhou West Lake, one of the thirty-six West Lakes distributed across the country. This is a long, slender lake, somewhat reminiscent of Slender West Lake, with a large mountain at the back of the lake, named Gourd Mountain, probably because it looks like a gourd.
🚶♂️Crossing the rainbow bridge over the lake, you come to the core of the park, where there is a monument to the soldiers who died in the War of Resistance. The Hanbi Building on the left is very eye-catching, with a group of statues named 'Welcome the Revolutionary Army into the City', depicting the history of the main force of the Nanchang Uprising Army taking over Chaozhou City. There is a bas-relief of 'Zhou Enlai's Speech Place' by the lake, where Premier Zhou once gave a speech. On the other side of the building, there are statues of several revolutionaries, including Premier Zhou, looking majestic.
🚶♂️Hanbi Building is a two-story building, with a plaque reading 'Hanbi Building' embedded in the eaves of the top floor, and a red five-star symbol above it. The building was first built in 1922 and was named for its green surroundings by the mountain and water. It was damaged by the Japanese during the War of Resistance and was rebuilt in 1964 according to the original design. The building is now mainly used as an exhibition hall, displaying the history of the Nanchang Uprising Army's occupation of Chaozhou City. As the Revolutionary Army fought here for seven days and left the seeds of revolution, the theme of the exhibition is named 'Chaozhou Seven Days Red'.
🚶♂️Leaving Hanbi Building and continuing south, there is a pavilion in the middle of the lake, which is very beautiful against the backdrop of the lake and mountains. Following the stone steps at the foot of the mountain, you start to climb. Gourd Mountain is not high, and soon you see a pavilion named Spring Wave Pavilion, and further up are the Yanta Stone Carvings, the most conspicuous of which is the word 'Park' inscribed by Wang Yankang. The Wild Goose Pagoda is like a mini version of the Big Wild Goose Pagoda, built on a high platform, but its origin is not found.
🚶♂️There are also sights such as the Waist City Ruins and the TV Tower on the mountain. After descending the mountain, you walk back along the lakeshore to the vicinity of the north gate, where there are few people and stone steps to climb the mountain. This is a secret place where nature and culture are intertwined. There are many inscriptions hidden on the big rocks, and the environment is quiet, so I couldn't help but stay here for a while. Among them, there is a huge rock with the words 'Living Man Cave' carved on it. I was curious about the name. It turns out that during the Ming Dynasty, someone was playing here and wanted to give this rock a nice name. Suddenly, a child fell into the lake. He rushed over to save him, and thus came up with the name 'Living Man Cave'.

No tickets are required for Chaozhou West Lake Park. Most of the elderly practiced in the morning. There are lakes and boats, mountains and waters, terraces and pavilions, and natural artificials are fun. When you climb to Fengqi Building in one breath, you will reach the highest point of the park. The park is worthy of being a green place for " beautiful dining ".
Paifang Street was only eating all the way, and finally punched in one of the first eight Chaozhou scenery: West Lake Yuyu, 🤩🤩🤩🌟 Highlights: They all said that there is paradise, there is Suhang, I didn't expect to experience the original West Lake scenery here in Chaozhou. Compared with Hangzhou, the air here is more pleasant and there are not many people. Super worth a visit. [Awesome][Awesome][Awesome] Although there are no eight views of the West Lake, it is really awesome to enjoy a green on the boating lake in the glare of the lake. 👍👍👍 And in addition to the garden scenery, I also pay tribute to the revolutionary martyrs of the War of Resistance Against Japan. It is very educational. 🤩🤩🤩 I came here after savoring Chaoshan cuisine. By the way, take a walk and digest it, enjoy the night view of Chaozhou West Lake 🫡 #Shanghai to eat, drink and play #First trip in 2023 #Play snow behavior reward
Chaozhou West Lake, the mountains are green, and the lake is green. It used to be the moat of the ancient city of Chaozhou, commonly known as "City Dianchi Lake". Today, with the westward shift of the center of urban construction, this place has become a green watershed between the ancient city and the new city, and it is also the link between the famous city Tenghui. Although Chaozhou West Lake is not big, it also has its characteristics, especially during the Spring Festival, there are many tourists.

Although not as beautiful as Hangzhou's West Lake, this West Lake in Chaozhou also has its own charm
