I went to watch Grand Slam Osaka, an international judo tournament. It is about an hour from Shin-Osaka Station by door to door, and about a 5-minute walk from the nearest Asashiobashi Station. Originally the Central Gymnasium was near Osaka Castle, but in 1996 it moved to the current Hachimanya Park in Minato-ku. It was built in a shape that half buried in the basement of this park, and the ground part was like a hill in the park and a small mountain for a walk, so it was good that the landscape was not damaged. The gymnasium can accommodate about 10,000 people and holds all kinds of events such as figure skating.
