Mandela Square, a small place, surrounded by shopping malls, the layout is quite unique. It's worth a visit! Enjoy a sunny Sunday afternoon
Nelson Mandela, South Africa's favorite son, stands in the middle of the square. Nelson & Mandela Square is the largest open public space in the country, adjacent to the famous and prosperous city of Thornton. This European Square monument celebrates Africa's international style and hospitality.
The hero of peace in his heart is an old man that the world admires. Standing under his tall sculpture, he seems to be sending a message of welcome to South Africa to the whole world with his hands. Tourists also embrace South Africa with open arms. Under this scenic spot, you will feel that the world is in our hearts.
as a person of color being within this space was surreal . the square insprires loves and care for your fellow man.
Johannesburg has a very artistic place. I think Mandela Square is one of them. There are many foreigners and local people shuttling through it. The square is not very big. It is a little different from what they expected. For us growing up in China, this is not really a square. The 6-meter-high Mandela bronze statue is placed in front of the fountain. It is very big and kind-looking, and it is very impressive. People admire the great people, the rest are basically shopping malls, there is a supermarket in Santon City, you can go to buy something to eat.
Mandela Square is a modern commercial center, which has many brand stores. The steak shop on the edge is said to be good. Reservation is required.
Mandela's meaning to South Africa is like Mao Zedong's to China. He shows the world the independence of black brothers and the spirit of desperation for freedom. There are a lot of people taking pictures with the statues, as well as local black stalls to help take pictures, if the effect is good, you can consider buying.
