Kaohsiung City, located in the southwestern part of Taiwan’s main island, was formed by the merger of the former Kaohsiung City and Kaohsiung County of Taiwan Province on December 25, 2010. It is combined with Tainan City, Chiayi County, Nantou County, Hualien County, Taitung County, and Pingtung County The neighboring counties and cities have an area of 2947 square kilometers and a total population of 2.78 million, ranking second in Taiwan Province. The Love River traverses Kaohsiung City. In the evening, the scenery on both sides of the Love River is beautiful and the breeze is very beautiful.
Love River was originally a canal used to transport timber during the Japanese colonial period. Although its name is related to the martyrs, it is now a place where couples show their affection. Along the river is full of well-known landscapes, such as the Water Park, the 228 Peace Park, the Church of Our Lady of the Rosary, and the True Love Pier. The riverside park is built on the downstream river bank, and dragon boating activities are held here every year during the Dragon Boat Festival. There are also many stops along the line for tourists to take a "love boat" to browse the beautiful riverbank. The most beautiful section is between Kaohsiung Bridge and Qixian Bridge. There are many cafes on both sides of the strait. You can have a cup of coffee, chat and watch the night scene.
