St. Volodymyr's Cathedral

A very beautiful temple that survived the communist era. The Church of St. Vladimir is one of the few active temples in the city under communist ideology. Built in the 19th century, the Orthodox Orthodox-Bishops Cathedral in Ukraine is not only the world's most glorious temple, but also a place to remember the distinguished Christian Prince Vladimir. Moreover, the remains of the holy great martyr Barbara are hidden here.

St. Vladimir's Cathedral is an Orthodox Church in Sevastopol. It was built after the Crimean War to commemorate the heroes of Sevastopol's siege (1854-1855). Admiral Mikhail Lazarev proposed the construction of St. Vladimir's Cathedral in Sevastopol, not in Xenisso. The church contains the tombs of Lazarev and his three disciples, Vladimir Kolnilov, Vladimir Istomin and Pavel Nasimov. The building style of the church is new Byzantine. Originally designed for the Cathedral of Xenisso. It was then reworked by local architects. Lower church was consecrated in 1881, and worship was completed seven years later. The building is 32.5 meters high. The interior decoration of the marble pavement was completed by a team of Swiss and Italian artists. The names of heroes in the siege wars of the 1950s were engraved on the walls. The Admiral's grave was destroyed by the Soviet authorities in 1931. The church suffered further damage in World War II.

It is one of the churches I definitely want you to visit. The yellow appearance was a little unusual and unique. It was Easter time for the Orthodox Church, so there were more believers visiting than usual.
