This place is always packed due to its scrumptious southern Indian dishes. You can order the basic banana leaf with rice and the staff will come around adding chutney and pickles, chicken or lentil curry, and fried gourd ( the best)! To add on, try the chicken 65 and tikka masala. Wash it all down with a salty or sweet mango lassi!
I like the idea that the food is served on a banana leaf. This idea would boom in europe! The food was really good. I had chicken masala.
Here's a perfect example of a local spot for banana leaf rice that must have been written in some tourist blog that has them lining up outside. (Wait, isn't that what's happening here?) The wait was about 15mins. They took our order while we waited in line. Once seated the rice, 3 vegetables and three curries came out. Dished out onto our leafs and shortly after our food arrived. We opted for the curry chicken and curry mutton. The chicken was a bit dry however the mutton was moist, not fatty and overly mutton flavored. With two mango Lassi and one ice tea for the three of us it came out to 66.50RM. Would I come back again? Only if I were in the area.
