Introduction
The USS Arizona was perhaps the most famous ship sunk on December the seventh, 1941 at Pearl Harbor. This massive vessel took more than one thousand sailors down with her, whose bodies she still protects today. This is one of the most moving memorials this side of the yet to be completed freedom towers in New York City. Visitors here are treated to a shuttle that takes them to the memorial, offers professional and moving narration, before returning to the main park grounds. Best of all, admission to this historic location is absolutely free, although it's based on a first come first served basis. Worth noting are the black tears of the Arizona. These minute traces of oil have been leaking from the vessel since she went down, and are thought to represent the constant tears shed as America never forgets this "date that shall live in infamy."

Well worth it, even if you are not American. It's an important historical site
What a great place to go if you are looking to spend the day with family and learn about Pearl Harbor! Definitely check it out if you can!
Arrive early if you want to get tickets to the Arizona. Before you go to the memorial they'll show you a 25 minute documentary... bring tissues.
A great place to learn about what transpired here back in 1941. There's a video that you watch that gives a brief history of the events leading up to the attack, after the video then you get to board the boats and ferry on over to the Arizona. Be sure to get their early for tickets on weekends because they don't last long. If you don't get there in time for a ticket there are other available sights such as the Bowfin tour, there's a museum, and the Mighty Mo tour on ford island too.
