Tropical Fruit Farm

Nearby Teluk Bahang, you can see many sample delicious, sun-ripened aromatic fruits, freshly picked from the farm. There are over 140 types of tropical and subtropical fruit trees from local varieties to exotic specimens. Guests can try may sorts of fruits here and for nature lovers, tours of the plantation are also available.

The tropical fruit farm is not easy to get to on public transportation - you have to take one bus (101 or 102) out to the National Park and then a second bus (the 501) to the farm - you'll see a sign for it. The 501 only runs every 2 hours or so. At the sign, you have to go up the hill to the farm. There you can take a tour for 35 ringgit. The tour is interesting and ends in a fruit buffet, where you can also get one smoothie made. A fun time!

Take a tour on the less developed side of the island and you can drive through large areas with less development. You can visit a variety of fruit farms including Durian, Nutmeg, and Dragon fruit farms. It is a pleasant drive through some lush vegetation, which is a nice contrast to the more developed city.

Full of curiosity, I walked into the "tropical fruit garden" of Wanguo Family Farm. Papaya, banana, mango, guava, pineapple, lemon... a wide variety of tropical fruits can be "catch all" in this orchard.
