Baita Mountain Park is located on the north bank of the Yellow River near the central district of Lanzhou City. The entrance is connected to Zhongshan Bridge and is an important scenic spot in Lanzhou City. Baita Mountain is based on the ancient white pagoda on the top of the mountain. There are many palace-style buildings in the mountains. Many trees are planted around the buildings. It is very good to exercise and take photos here. More importantly, when you climb Baita Mountain, you can see the spectacular panorama of Lanzhou City, with a very wide field of vision. The best time to visit Baita Mountain is in summer. The altitude of the top of the mountain is about 1,700 meters, but it is only about 200 meters high compared to the Lanzhou City below the mountain. The mountain is not high, and it is not difficult to climb up. There are courtyards and temples of some ancient buildings on the road, as well as beautiful trees and lawns, which can be viewed one by one. Arrive at the top area to watch the White Pagoda, take a panoramic view of Lanzhou, and then go to the Lanzhou Forest of Steles behind the mountain, and then go down the mountain and return. The general play time is about 2-3 hours. In addition, if you are not physically strong, you can also take the Yellow River Cableway on the other side of the Yellow River. The cableway passes through the Yellow River and then reaches the mountainside of Baita Mountain. There are roughly three levels of ancient buildings on the mountaineering road of Baita Mountain, including huge arches, city towers and monastery attics. Between these buildings, there are many trees, creating a rare tree-lined environment in the northwest, and it is very comfortable to climb the mountain. Some of the courtyards of the building also have lawns, and wild flowers bloom every spring and summer, which is very beautiful. In addition, there will be people selling handicrafts such as gourd carvings and Yellow River stone carvings on the mountain roads, usually for dozens of dollars a piece, if you are interested, you can buy them. At the top of the mountain is a white pagoda, with a total of seven floors and seventeen meters high. This pagoda was built by Kublai Khan to commemorate the Tibetan Buddhist teacher Saban who died here, and later rebuilt in the Ming Dynasty. One of the symbols is also the origin of the name of Baita Mountain. There are also cultural relics from the Ming and Qing Dynasties such as elephant skin drums and bronze bells on the top of the mountain, which are also the legendary treasures of the town. More importantly, when you look back at the top of the mountain, you can see the panoramic view of Lanzhou city. A Yellow River passes through the city at the foot, and there are row upon row of buildings on both sides of the river bank, which is very spectacular. If you come in the evening or after dark, the buildings and street lights will be on, which is more suitable for shooting beautiful night scenes of the city. On the northwest side of the back of the mountain, there is a forest of steles in Lanzhou, which is a similar round ancient courtyard. On the inner side of the courtyard wall, there are copies of calligraphy and stone carvings of many famous calligraphers from ancient times to modern times. The historical monuments of the King of Xining, "Hui'an Xibiao", "Chunhua Pavilion Tie", etc. have been copied or carved here. In addition, there are calligraphy stone tablets with special characters such as oracle bone script, Tibetan script, Xixia script, and Phashiba script, which are worth visiting. When tourists visit Lanzhou, they usually visit Baita Mountain Park, Lanzhou Waterwheel Expo Park, Zhongshan Bridge, etc. If there is enough time, Gansu Provincial Museum will be added. It is recommended to arrange the itinerary to climb Baita Mountain in the afternoon, go down the mountain in the evening just to see the night scene on both sides of the Yellow River, and then go to the Zhengning Road Night Market not far away to taste delicious snacks, which is very pleasant.
