Photos of Sheffield

Sheffield Mural Town is located at the foot of Mount Roland (Mount Roland) in northwest Tasmania, 63 kilometers from Cradle Mountain. Since the early 1980s, a group of painters came to Sheffield to settle down. In order to reshape the local recessionary economy and change the dull cultural environment of the town, they began to paint murals one after another for the town. So far, more than 100 murals have been left on the outer walls of the historic buildings, telling the past guests about the history and living conditions of the town. Even if these murals are improvised graffiti, many of them are from the hands of famous contemporary master artists. Now basically all the buildings in the town are covered with murals, just like a 3D painting book. Chinese singer Eason Chan also left his works in this small town. A mural exhibition is held here every year.
