True to its name, Leshan is a “city of mountains and rivers.” The landscape here is magnificent, with many historic sites, and it is one of Sichuan's great tourist destinations. Mount Emei, in the area of Leshan, is one of the four great Buddhist mountains in China. Deep in the mountains there are many temples, suffusing the area with a serene Buddhist atmosphere. From here you can also gaze out at the sunrise and the sea of clouds. The Big Buddha Temple at Leshan is also a scenic spot you absolutely must visit. Designed as a statue of a seated Maitreya Buddha, it is a fine work of cliff-carving from the Tang Dynasty. Additionally, you can take a ride on the “living fossil of the Industrial Revolution”, as the Jiayang steam train is known. Chugging cheerfully along in the mountain wilderness, it showcases the elegance of trains made in the local area.
_FB***97Mount Emei, one of the four sacred Buddhist mountains of China, located in Leshan City, is also one of the most beautiful mountains I have ever climbed.Came here during February, the night before was still snowing, can imagine how cold the weather is. Staircase to the mountains was filled with ice, very slippery, along the way will have many people trying to sell your their ‘spiking shoe’, do not get cheated as it will not help you at all. If you were lucky, you will meet the mountain monkeys family, don’t try to feed them as they will not satisfy with whatever you fed, they are picky, and will try to snatch your bag, my poor paper bag was torn by the naughty monkey. When finally reached the top of mountain, the view was stunning, awesome, so beautiful, and no words can describe how magnificent it is. Golden temple is shining on top of the mountain, it is so beautiful! Very lucky to catch a very short period of clear blue sky on a cloudy day.
MaxSAmazing! Sometimes I really admiring what human hands can create! There is not enough words in any language to describe it. I was surprised. Do not miss the chance to see the miracle of the world! I recommend both to take boat trip and to climb. About climbing, yes, there are many people, but just ignore them and enjoy the ancient masters creation!
_GG***23Golden Summit was amazing! The temple had a lot of dedicated pilgrims which gave a very holy, spiritual atmosphere to this sacred mountain. I also saw beautiful sea of clouds, buddha's ray and snow mountain and the beautiful sunrise and sunset! This is the best place in Emeishan! One of the highlights to my Sichuan trip!
_We***01Lingxiu is better to play, you can eat barbecue snacks and drinks, suitable for children. Red Zhushan is a serious forest hot spring, very quiet and comfortable, and must go when there are fewer people. 2 people a pool, in the forest is quiet, too comfortable.
_We***01The three of our family who have not taken the train are excited. Buy a ticket on Trip.com first (in the recent peak season, there may be no ticket for their time) and then exchange a ticket. I have to say that the various flowers of rape are really beautiful along the way. When we arrived at the end, we went to the Huangcun underground mine. Walking trail 1.6 km, it's also very good to see the old building along the way ~
A Nice day out. Walking distance was Only 2 hours.

嘉定坊 or Jia Ding Fang is a peaceful and silent place on the river side. From entrance to the Giant Buddha area it requires to take 20 minutes walk to get here. Very good option for promenade. Places was sacrificed for hotels building, but still has piece of history. The gate of small harbor and little bridge, where in ancient times locals welcomed military officers and honorable guests.

乐山好吃街,Leshan Haochi Jie. The walking street in Leshan focused on offering snacks and local spicy dishes. We tried several of them and felt pretty satisfied. If you don't like spicy food just explain the waiter or cooker that, they accustomed to modify cooking style depended on customer requirements. Prices are low, quality is good. During the evening it looks more beautiful. In front of exit/entrace located river and good promenade street along the river.

凌云寺 aka Ling Yun Temple. The temple with big courtyard and several halls. Temple is functioning as a religious place, not only tourists spot. Monks always busy with their daily tasks and obligations including studying. Temple warmly welcome everyone and ready to provide spiritual experience for all kind of visitors. Temple looks new that also makes this place beautiful. Located not far away from Giant Buddha.

Thousand Buddha cave. Well, this is wonderful and so impressive that makes you forget about the time. I was surprised again how did they could do that?! To create something like that the people should have greatest inspiration!
In cave inside we faced many small Buddhist tales depicted on the walls and told through this piece of art. When we came ,there were no people that made our experience more rich.

药师佛 or Pharmacist Buddha! Sure, because I'm pharmacist I was attracted by inscribing on the arrow pointed right direction and came to visit this stature. When I have entered the small cave I was shocked because this outstanding and unique pattern of greatest work appeared in front of my eyes! This is the hugest Buddha made from rock in the mountain. It was not just compilation of several pieces dragged from outside into big naturally formed grotto. It us not! The masters have done it from monolithic rock, they was really digging into mountain to create this space an monolithic stature! Amazing!
Trip.com should make it like independent attraction in the list of landmarks of Leshan (located in the oriental Buddha capital 东方佛都 territory)

Oriental Buddha capital or 东方佛都。 Many people think it is just a Forest Park with several Buddha stature located behind the Leshan Giant Buddha area. No, absolutely not! This is real miracle. I recommend very quickly finish with Giant Buddha and as quick as possible to move here, because time could be not enough to enjoy everything. I hope trip.com will make every part of this territory as a separate landmark because those artifacts deserved this! Cultural relics and masterpieces shocking even knocking down imagination.
