After nearly a century of excavation, restoration, and scientific research, a large new museum was finally opened in 2023, showcasing many astonishing artifacts that have been restored and brought before our eyes! ✅ Upon entering the exhibition hall, the new museum's theme 'Ancient City, Ancient State, Ancient Shu Culture' is divided into three main exhibition areas: 'Century of Dreams,' 'Majestic Capital,' and 'Heaven, Earth, and Divine Beings,' each with different exhibition units. ✅ 'Century of Dreams' and 'Majestic Capital' are on the first floor, while 'Heaven, Earth, and Divine Beings' is on the second floor. The new museum is about five times the size of the original and displays many more artifacts. In addition to the artifacts unearthed from Sacrificial Pits No. 1 and No. 2, the new round of archaeological excavations has brought forth over 1,500 artifacts for display, including pottery, bronzeware, jade, and gold items, which is more than three times the number of artifacts previously exhibited, with nearly 600 items being displayed for the first time. ✅ The new museum is notable for its use of many new technologies, such as AI algorithms for artifact restoration and naked-eye 3D reconstruction of archaeological 'pods,' making the exhibition experience richer and more immersive. ✅ The first floor is divided into 'Century of Dreams' and 'Majestic Capital' exhibition areas. Seeing the bronze human figures was already impressive, but the bronze trees were even more so. I'm at a loss for words to describe it. A tip is not to crowd around the entrance to take photos of the bronze masks. Move quickly inside, where there are plenty of masks to see! Each one is unique. The further back you go in the museum, the more exquisite the collections become. The quality of the guides at the museum entrance varies, so choose wisely. The one we met today wasn't even as good as the free QR code information provided by the museum. The cultural relics restoration center also has some collections that should not be missed.

Chuanxi is back, let's talk about the big truths that aren't on the internet.. ||- 1-If you're planning to fly to Chengdu, I suggest choosing Shuangliu Airport if you have a choice, as Tianfu is really too far away, about 70km from the city center, and it's not very convenient whether you take a taxi or the subway - 2-A 3-in-1 hardshell jacket is almost enough for winter in Chuanxi, but I recommend a hardshell jacket + fleece/down. I also don't suggest bringing a long down coat, as it's inconvenient for using the restroom - 3-The attractions in Chengdu city are very concentrated, and you can do it yourself. Anyway, don't buy them inside the scenic areas - 6-There are many little sheep and yaks on the roadside for you to take pictures with, but they charge a fee. Riding a yak costs about 50, and you can bargain hard during the off-season - 7-Chuanxi is vast, and I still suggest joining a tour group if you are traveling alone. Experienced drivers can consider self-driving, but I really don't recommend it for beginners, as this is the plateau! High altitude sickness and difficult roads are no joke - 8-If you're afraid of altitude sickness, observe in the hotel on the first day, because there is an incubation period for altitude sickness. If it's severe, go to a clinic to get an IV and inhale some oxygen. The effect of medical oxygen is not comparable to handheld oxygen - 9-I don't recommend choosing tours below market price, as they are basically shopping tours.
