Potala Palace - Tibet Autonomous Region
Getting there - Book with a tour group to get to Tibet. We used JoyTravel in China and they were wonderful. :)
Take a moment to stop and catch your breath, the Potala Palace sits at an elevation of 3700 meters about 12,100 feet. We spent time hiking up and through each room. The many rooms of the palace were exquisite and it was such a treat to learn about the history of each location. Photography is not permitted inside, however, this made the experience seem even more special and we were able to take in the sights without any distractions.

Such grand and tranquil beauty only exists in the snowy mountain holy lake - Namtso
It's not its fault that it's so beautiful, this is Tibet's Namtso. Namtso is one of the 'three holy lakes' in Tibet. It is the first divine lake of the ancient Bon religion, and one of the famous Buddhist holy places. Wherever you look, there is pure blue, boundless vastness, sacred and flawless. Being here, you can let go of everything and just be yourself. If blue is a synonym for beauty, it must be describing here.
'In this land reserved by God, even time freezes...'
When you come to Namtso, you will experience what it feels like to have a sudden enlightenment! It is located in the central part of the Tibet Autonomous Region, the second largest lake in Tibet, and the third largest saltwater lake in China!
Located on the 'roof of the world', it presents the sacred and pure beauty to the world without reservation!
To the south of the lake, there are the year-round snow-capped Nyenchen Tanglha Mountains, and to the north and west, there are gentle highland hills and a vast lakeshore. The heavenly lake is like a giant mirror, embedded in the grasslands of northern Tibet!
Here, surrounded by snow-capped mountains, with changing clouds, unlike the turbulent sea, the rushing waterfall. Namtso, just lies there quietly, tranquility is her posture, the troubles of the world have nothing to do with her.....
Such grand yet tranquil beauty only exists in the snowy mountain holy lake - Namtso!
Namtso, is one of the 'three holy lakes' in Tibet, and also a must-visit spot for Tibet travel. It is also known as the 'lake closest to heaven'. The azure lake, blue sky and white clouds, scattered yaks, distant snow-capped mountains, this is Namtso, a holy place to purify the soul.
Ticket price: 120 yuan, taking a photo with the yaks in the scenic area is 50 yuan per photo (you can bargain, depending on your bargaining ability).
Precautions:
!The most important thing to pay attention to when traveling to Tibet is altitude sickness, especially in Namtso, where the altitude reaches over 5000, it is easy to have altitude sickness, it is recommended to bring medicine for altitude sickness.
!The wind here is particularly strong, it can make your head ache, thick clothes and hats are necessary, be prepared for wind protection. And because the light is strong, sunglasses are also necessary, otherwise you can't open your eyes, and you need to be prepared for sun protection to prevent sunburn.
!Choose a good time to travel, the weather greatly affects the beauty of Namtso, although the scenery is not bad on cloudy days, but Namtso on a sunny day is really beautiful! The best time to go to Namtso is from July to September.
!When taking pictures, be careful not to take pictures of the local Tibetans and cattle and sheep, because they may charge you. And when taking a photo with a yak, keep a safe distance first, because you might get kicked.
Namtso Lake via Damxung
Getting There - spend the night in Damxung/Dangxiong or Lhasa/Lasa 🏯
Attractions - Namtso Lake / Lake Nam / Tengri Nor 🏞
Note! Even in summer, the altititude of this Lake can make the entire area quite cold, so bring a jacket and a rain coat too - as it's quite susceptible to weather changes. 🏔☀️🌧
Also, check with your tour guide if the bus tickets are included to the Lake. 🏞
Lake Namtso is the largest Lake in Tibet (AR), it is a giant saltwater lake. You can see how pristine it is for miles from the lovely turquoise blue colour. 🔵
around the island are various locals trading their wares, and selling noodles that you can feed to the local birds. 🐦

first contact the local area in advance Photo studios where you can rent clothes. There are many such places in the area. The quality is uneven. You can look at the samples they provided.
I saw this before I went to Tibet. Like their photo style ~ they have more types of clothing than the average studio!
Later, I chatted with Miss Zhao, who knew that these Tibetan clothes were carefully selected by myself. The wigs of the wigs were also compiled by myself. I can see that I was very careful in taking pictures

Location
This group of photos was taken in Lhasa downtown landmark - Jokhang Temple & Bajiao Street

Namaste Restaurant Lhasa - smokey
Read much about Namaste in Lhasa on the internet. Restaurant is pretty popular and was packed when we arrived. After a 20 minute wait, we got a table. The menu had Indian/nepali, tibetan, chinese, we settled for the indian/nepali food. It was of reasonable quality both in terms of taste and price. One big drawback for me was they allow people to smoke inside the restaurant. So if you are a non-smoker you lose your appetite pretty quick
Barkhor Street is amazing for taking photos
I landed at noon and rushed to Barkhor Street in the afternoon.
It offers a different vibe during the day and at night.
You can buy souvenirs at a reasonable price.
Enjoy some Tibetan butter tea.
Take a portrait with your best friend.
The next day, I visited the Jokhang Temple,
which requires advance reservation.
There's a great yak meat hotpot restaurant.
Barkhor Street - The Power of Faith
Visiting Tibet, to feel the power of faith, Barkhor Street is the place to be. In Tibetan, Barkhor means 'intermediate pilgrimage circuit', and it was originally a circumambulation route built around the Jokhang Temple. During my eight days in Tibet, I went to Barkhor Street three times, which made me feel the strong faith of Tibetan Buddhism. On Barkhor Street, I met a pair of Tibetan brothers who prostrated all the way from Garze to Lhasa, which was truly shocking to me.
🌈Touring tips
1⃣On Barkhor Street, there are many Tibetans who perform circumambulation and prostration. They all walk clockwise around the Jokhang Temple, and visitors should also follow the clockwise route.
2⃣Entering Barkhor Street requires a security check, so be sure to bring your ID. At the entrance of the Jokhang Temple, you can see many prostrating pilgrims; please do not speak loudly when touring.
3⃣There are many shops selling handicrafts on Barkhor Street, especially turquoise and amber jewelry, so be sure to discern carefully.
🌈Some recommended shops
📍Ancient Tree Yogurt: Next to a huge tree on Barkhor Street, there are many types of yogurt, and the osmanthus yogurt is good, which is decent for an internet-famous shop.
📍Makye Ame: A yellow house, also an internet-famous Tibetan restaurant, tells the love story of Tsangyang Gyatso, and the taste is just okay.
📍A Diao Milk Tea: This can be said to be the Tibetan version of 'TeaYanYueSe', I bought a cup and it felt okay, not as bad as some online reviews say.
📍Old Guangming Gangqiong Sweet Tea House: This can be said to be the most popular sweet tea house nearby, just put a coin in a cup and someone will come to pour you a cup, it's a good atmosphere to experience.

Jokhang Temple Travel Recommendations for 2024 (Updated in Apr)
JOKHANG
Jokhang , also known as Qoikang Monastery, is a Buddhist temple on Barkhor Square in Lhasa. Tibetans generally consider this temple to be the most sacred temple in Tibet. The temple is currently run by the Gelug sect, but they accept worshipers from all sects of Buddhism. The temple, considered the "spiritual heart of the city" and the holiest in Tibet, is at the center of Lhasa's network of ancient Buddhist temples. It is the focal point of commercial activity in the city, with a maze of streets radiating from it. Jokhang is located 1,000 meters (3,300 ft) east of the Potala Palace. Barkhor, the market square in the center of Lhasa, has a path for pilgrims to walk around the temple (which takes about 20 minutes). Barkhor Square is marked with four stone sankang (incense burners), two of which are in front of the temple and two at the back. Jokhang was originally built to house a Buddha statue brought to Tibet by the wife of King Songtsen Gampo who was from Nepal. However, another image, Jowa Sakyamuni, was later transferred here by another wife of the king (Princess Wencheng of China), and it is this image that gives Jokhang its name and spiritual potential: Jokhang means 'Jowo chapel'. Tourists can only visit Jokhang Temple in the afternoon; the morning is reserved for the pilgrims. The best way to enjoy the temple is to arrive at 8am to watch the pilgrims perform their worship, then visit the interior in the afternoon. The temple was relatively quiet at that time, except for the presence of a Chinese student tour guide.

Wedding at the holiest place in Tibet...... City of God's...
I was in Jakhang Temple, this is the symbol of Tubo Kingdom, it means a lot to the Tibetan Buddhism, also a must-visit attraction in Tibet. We can see many traditional rites here, like the "3 Steps 1 Knee".
Wearing Tibetan clothes in the Jokhang Temple is the best way to travel in Tibet
Jokhang Temple, is the end of the pilgrimage of Tibetan Buddhism, the sacred of the Jokhang Temple, not inferior to the Potala Palace, located in the octagonal The core area of the street.
You can often see pilgrims licking their heads at the entrance of the Jokhang Temple. It shows that the status of the Jokhang Temple in the eyes of the Lhasa people is high, and more people are turning around the Jokhang Temple every day. It can be seen that the Jokhang Temple, a Tibetan Buddhist temple with a history of more than 1,300 years, is in the hearts of Tibetans.
Tickets: 85 yuan (can only be paid in cash)
The area of Jokhang Temple is not very large. If you visit it yourself, you can visit it in 10 minutes, but please ask a tour guide. It is quite fun to listen to the history of the Jokhang Temple. Also be sure to ask a tour guide to explain, we are a tour guide outside the Jokhang Temple, one person 50 yuan, each person sends a headset.
Wearing Tibetan clothes in the Jokhang Temple is the best way to integrate into the local Tibetans. After a few laps at the Jokhang Temple, I will involuntarily recall the six-word mantra. Its hard to have such a calm time in the middle of the week, so that I can calm down and think about the meaning of life and the true meaning of life.
Of course, the Jokhang Temple is also the best place to take pictures. No matter where you go, there are red wall yellow wall background decoration, wearing bright Tibetan clothes to take pictures, all are big.

Here comes the 11-day, 10-night Tibet travel guide for an average cost of 2500 per person||
1️⃣Accommodation - Muyang Chenge Youth Hostel (Jokhang Temple branch) 25💰 per bed
I'm not an advertiser, dear friends
2️⃣Dining - I mostly ordered takeout and didn't check in at any popular restaurants. You must try the fried potatoes in Tibet, they are really delicious
3️⃣Itinerary
📌Yamdrok Lake (90💰) includes meal
📌Sera Monastery entrance fee 50💰, after 5 pm 10💰
Debates start at 3 pm, there are no debates after 5 pm so it's cheaper
📌Tashilhunpo Monastery is especially efficacious for wealth-seeking on Wednesdays
📌Nanshan Park is free, the scenery is beautiful
📌Hanging prayer flags on Nakin Mountain 230💰, 200 meters is enough
📌Tibetan costume photo shoot 158💰 (includes 3 hours of costume rental) You rent the costume and take your own photos. The costume seems to be 100 and makeup 58, you can ask around, I forgot
The address is: Tibet Cultural Physical Examination Space
4️⃣Essential items
Indigestion medicine, cold medicine, painkillers, glucose
Ibuprofen granules (good for high altitude headache)
Hat, sunscreen, sun protection gloves, motion sickness medicine if you get car sick
📌Tibet is really a magical place. On this trip, I met many interesting friends who added a lot of fun to my journey. Although the 53-hour hard seat train journey was long, I met friends from all over the world. We shared food and took care of each other. I met a super nice girl from Guangzhou in the hostel, and on the way back, I met travel companions to play with. The trip to Tibet has ended. There are regrets, but the imperfections make the journey beautiful.
📌The places you want to go to at 20, don't wait until you're 30. Because the feelings at 20 are different from those at 30. I hope we can all catch the tail of youth and enjoy life in time
✋(My advice) Tibet is a slow-paced city, don't rush your itinerary.
In Lhasa, watch the Potala Palace, daydream, drink sweet tea, turn the prayer wheel, and spend a leisurely day experiencing the city's life, culture, and beliefs.
📌Warning: Remember not to join a tour group in advance. If you sign up for a tour before even arriving in Tibet and then suffer from altitude sickness, you'll be rushing your itinerary and that's just paying to suffer.
Sera Monastery | At this moment, the voice of faith is deafening
Sera Monastery (sera-theg-chen-gling), located about 5 kilometers north of Lhasa city center, at the southern foot of Sera Utsé Mountain. 'Sera' in Tibetan means 'wild rose garden'. Its formal name is 'theg-chen-gling', which means 'Mahayana continent'. Founded in 1419, it was built with the support of the noble Langkazanbu (nam-mkav-bzang-po) by Jamchen Chöjé Shakya Yeshe, a disciple of Tsongkhapa.
Sera Monastery covers an area of 114,964 square meters. It is one of the six major monasteries of the Gelug school of Tibetan Buddhism, originally designed for 5,500 monks but actually housing over 9,000. The main structures include the Coqen Hall (assembly hall), the 'three great Zhacangs' and 32 Kangtsens. The early buildings were centered around the Mazhacang and Abacang, and after many generations of expansion and renovation, it has reached its current size, hence there is no overall plan in its layout. However, the architecture is adapted to the local conditions, with a prominent main body, dense but not cramped, complex but not chaotic, reflecting the unique style of the Gelug monasteries, resembling a religious capital city. In 1962, it was listed as a key cultural relic protection unit by the autonomous region.
