Haizhu Square

Haizhu Square, built in 1953, is located at the intersection of the central axis of Guangzhou Old Town and the riverside landscape belt. It is the only riverside square in Guangzhou. The square is green grass, planted with palms, red cotton and other trees. The whole square is rich in subtropical characteristics. In the center of the square stands the Guangzhou Liberation Memorial, built in 1959, the statue shoulder-length millet bag, one hand clenched rifle, one hand holding flowers, smiling and staring at the distance. Like the inscription "Liberation Memorial on October 14, 1949" engraved with Ye Jianying, it is an iconic sculpture building along the river road.
