Lingshui River is commonly known as Daxi River locally. In ancient times, it was called Lingmu Danshui, Lingzha Water, and Linggong Water. It is the fourth largest river in Hainan. The Lingshui River originates from Xianfangling, Baoting County. It enters Lingshui County through Ba Village and Shiling in Baoting County, and passes through Qunying, Nanping, Timon, Yelin and Lingcheng to Shuikou. The port merges into the South China Sea, and the main tributaries of Lingshui River are Baoting River and Duzong River. The upper reaches of Lingshui River is Shiling River, which is called Lingshui River after Shiling River joins with Shidong River. The rainwater collection area is 1131 square kilometers, the main stream is 73.5 kilometers long, the slope is 3.13‰, and the total drop is 1059 meters. The average rainfall depth for many years is 2040 mm, the average annual runoff is 1.41 billion cubic meters, and the average annual flow is 44.7 cubic meters per second.
