wonderful and famous Beatles song, that goes through your head, at the mention of the name. The street, named after Mr. Penny, has a darker and more infamous side; as Mr. Penny was a ship owner and slave masterSheda11

Penny Lane, an alley near where John Lennon lived as a child, has become a must-see on a Beatles tour. At one end of the alley is the famous Beatles Barbershop, and several bars across the street were regular venues for The Beatles' early performances in Liverpool. Coming here feels so close to the life of the Beatles, who walked through it, took the bus here, and left their timeless music here. "Penny Lane" is also a famous song by The Beatles, written by Paul McCartney. Listening to this song and looking at the scenery here, I seem to be able to imagine the gathering and dream of the two teenagers. Beatles fans don't miss this place.
