Kensington Gardens is often thought to be a part of Hyde Park. This technicality comes from a sixteenth century decree that the parks were to be separate in name. The parks hold great significance in British history, as they were the location of multiple important and the famed Great Exhibition of 1851, a major turning point during the industrial revolution.
