Yes, you may need to have a sense of morbid curiosity to actually come here, but you will be glad that you did. It's not an overly large cemetery, but they have definitely filled it up quite a bit. You can find a lot of nice looking tombstones and crypts, as well as those from some well known people.

Founded in 1899, Hollywood Forever Cemetery is now listed on the National Register of Historic Sites. It is the final resting place of many stars and founders of Hollywood. Today, you are welcome to join in the daily walking tours, attend events at the Masonic Lodge and view the video memorials that are located around the grounds. Cinespia holds film screenings right at the cemetery. Pack a picnic basket, some chairs and a blanket and enjoy the many movies and concerts that are held on the grounds throughout the year.

It's such a beautiful cemetery where lots of famous people are buried - It's so peaceful and luxurious and the peacocks wander the grounds. You might even run into a resident kitty on the property.
Stop by at this unique and gorgeous place to visit the graves of film and music luminaries as well as see screenings and attend concerts and special events. Yes, bring a picnic (even beer and wine) and enjoy yourself under the shade of the majestic palms.
This spot is definitely seasonal as it offers outdoor movie screenings in the summer but it's definitely worth checking out. Movies vary from cult favorites to box office hits and themed nights offer sleepover options. Be sure to bring some blankets or lawn chairs and pack a picnic as there's no food offered. It fills up quickly so get there early to get a good spot and check out the website for a current list of movies being screened. Located in East Hollywood, there are tons of bars and nightclubs nearby if you feel like going out after the movie.
The place is amazing everyday if the year but from time to it gets even better. For instance last weekend was the Dia de Los Muertos festival.
