Xiangtong Temple is the most magnificent temple in Luang Prabang. It was built by King Setthathirat in 1560 and was a private property of the royal family until 1975. Like the palace, the Xiangtong Temple is also located near the Mekong River. The main hall represents the architectural style of the classic Luang Prabang temple, and the back wall is inlaid with a spectacular tree of living trees. It is not difficult to see that Luang Prabang is a delicate and quaint hill town located in the valley surrounded by the mountains of the Mekong River. The folk customs are simple, the natural ecological protection is intact, and there is no excessive commercial interpersonal relationship. It is recognized as the Southeast Asian tradition and colonial style. The best-preserved city has become a “paradise” for Western tourists. :tips: Luang Prabang is not a big city, from the backpacker center to the Xiangtong Temple is in a walking distance. Xiangtong Temple’s ticket price is 20,000 Kip.
