Luoyang Zhougong Temple Museum (formerly Luoyang Capital Museum) is a special museum built on the basis of the original Zhougong Temple to commemorate Zhougong and display the culture of Luoyang capital city ruins. Zhougong Temple was built in the late Sui Dynasty and early Tang Dynasty (AD 618). The museum is not large in size and is divided into the southern area, the northern area and the eastern area. Duke Zhou, named Ji Dan, was the fourth son of King Wen of Zhou, and assisted his younger brother King Wu of Zhou to capture and govern the world. Duke Zhou was also the founder of Luoyang City, the founder of Chinese Confucianism, and enjoyed a high position in Confucian culture. The ritual and music system he formulated had a profound impact on the development of Chinese history. And the book "The Duke of Zhou's Interpretation of Dreams" widely circulated in China is also closely related to him. After entering the museum, first visit the southern area, which is the ancient building complex of Zhougong Temple. On the axis are the Dingding Hall, the auditorium, the apse and the wing rooms on both sides. You will first see Dingdingtang, which is a Ming Dynasty building. When you step into Dingding Hall, you can see the statue of Duke Zhou in the center. On the left and right sides are two brothers of the same clan, Duke Bi and Duke Zhao, and at the two ends are the eldest son and second son of Duke Zhou. Among them, the statue of the eldest son Bo Qin on the right is a relic of the Ming Dynasty. On the outer wall of Dingdingtang, there is a monument of Zhou Gong's interpretation of dreams, and if you are interested, you can interpret your dreams. In the wing rooms on both sides of the apse, pictures and texts of Duke Zhou's life and achievements are displayed. In the north and east areas of the museum, you can see the "Ancient Capital City Construction History Exhibition" and the large-scale open-air model displays of 5 capital cities. Through these exhibitions, you can learn in detail the beginning and end of Zhou Gong's construction of Luoyang, as well as the five acts in Luoyang's history. The outline and scale of the capital city, these displays will give you a deep respect for this thousand-year-old capital.
