What people are saying:

Luxor Temple is located in the center of Luxor on the east bank of the Nile River, more than 670 kilometers south of Cairo. It was built in the 14th century BC and was dedicated to the sun god Amon by the 18th Dynasty pharaoh Amenhotep III It was built after Ramses II's expansion and some constructions in the Greco-Roman period, forming a site with mixed architectural characteristics of several dynasties. The main buildings include the Sphinx Avenue outside the temple, the statue of Ramses II in front of the gate, and an obelisk (the other one was given to France). Several courtyards of the temple are surrounded by colonnades, and there are many statues of gods and pharaohs built inside, and the outer and inner walls are carved with relief stories describing the pharaohs.
