Photos of Rynok Square

The Market Square is located in the center of the old city of Lviv. It appeared in the second half of the 14th century and has a history of more than 600 years. Many important historical events have been witnessed here. There are many distinctive classical buildings around the square, including the "Black House" at No. 4, the Polish King's Palace at No. 6, and the Old Palace of Peter the Great at No. 24. The winding streets full of beautiful buildings near the square are also worth exploring. In summer, open-air cafes are common, as well as female candy sellers in traditional 19th-century national costumes, and trams also pass here. Although there is no market in the square now, it is a popular starting point for tourists to explore the old town of Lviv.
