Those of our generation who have seen old movies are familiar with the story of Qiongya Column. When traveling in Haikou, I suddenly discovered this large old site in Qiongya in a downtown alley. In June 1926, the Qiongya Congress of the Communist Party of China was held here. After the liberation of Hainan, it became the office address of government departments. It was opened as a memorial hall for citizens and tourists to visit for free. Unfortunately, when I went there, it happened to be closed on a day of rest. I could only look back on history through mural reliefs outside.
The site of the Qiongya No. 1 Congress of the Communist Party of China is very close to the Qilou Old Street. It is an important modern revolutionary historical site in Hainan and is now a national key cultural relics protection unit. The old site has become a patriotism education base and is open to visitors for free.
Red tourist attraction. An ordinary place, an extraordinary meaning.
