El Peñol de Guatape is a famous rock formation near Medellin that locals and tourists alike love to visit. The rock itself is over 200m high, and you’ll have to climb up around 650 steps to reach the top! Even if a little tiring, the view is worth it - you’ll be able to see a stunning panoramic view of the surrounding area and it is simply beautiful.

Complete with a fountain, a cobblestone square and vibrant buildings filled with bright colours and beautiful flowers, Pueblito Paisa is a popular tourist attraction in Medellin. Everyone was crowded into the one square in the midst of renovations that were going on at the time of our visit, leaving for a less-than-desirable level of noise and lack of personal space. HOWEVER, Pueblito Paisa is locates on a high hill in the middle of the Aburrá Valley - Cerro Nutibara - and offers wonderful views of the sprawling city of Medellin. Swipe to take a look!⠀

As we walked through a now “reclaimed” area of Comuna 13, we saw how graffiti and rap changed the culture within this now popular section of the neighbourhood. We watched as a local dance troupe got together to show off their mad skills, ate ALL the snacks and admired the colourful murals that graced the walls of buildings as symbols and reminders of a hope for continued peace ✌🏻 ⠀
