Tiamo 1 and Tiamo 2 sit side by side. Both are equally delightful. Specializing in Italian Gourmet food, they do it better than no other. Usually packed, inside and outside, if you really want to eat there you just have to be patient and it is well worth the rate. Every dish is pretty much a traditional Italian dish and make sure you only go when you are really hungry - the serves are fairly sizeable. I can onlky speak about the pasta, but it is second to none. Whilst not on the menu, I always ask for the same and they are very flexible. Whether Vegetarian or not, the Spaghetti and mushroom pasta (any type of pasta) with a creamy pesto sauce, washed down with a chilled glass of Chardonnay, cannot possibly disappoint. Warning, it's busy, noisy and the tables are squeezed in closely, together. But don't worry, it's too noisy for anyone at the next table to hear your conversation. Better still, sit outside and enjoy the ambience of Lygon St Carlton. If you are looking for something light, there is a generous antipasto, which can be quickly turned into a Vegetarian dish upon request. You must try it. It's iconic Max Lynch
Well this place was packed, we lucked out and managed to get a table. Table service is very quick and efficient, and no nonsense. I had mussels and my friend had pizza, and we both thoroughly enjoyed our meals. This place was definitely worth a visit, and I'd definitely go back. But be warned it's often packed and you may be turned away at the door (we saw people that that happened too because they were filled up). But they seem to have two or three sittings, so it would be worth coming back. Highly recommend this place!
Tiamo 2 is one of my favourite places to eat particularly following a film at the Nova. I love that you can still get the same dishes year after year as well as enjoy new specials. The staff are always friendly and the food is always very good. Enjoyed by the whole family.
Heard so much about the pizzas from this restaurant, we made a special trip out of our way to go there. All geared up for pizza, ordered drinks, then we get told pizza ovens haven't been turned on, will take at least an hour before the pizzas are ready. No apologies, the waiter just gave us back the menus and basically said order pasta if you can't wait. The pasta was very nice but we wanted pizza. Who doesn't have their pizza oven turned on by 12 noon.
